In chapter 20 Darth Vader remarks about the veermoks killing their leader when Tarkin was on Spike, "They failed to realize that they would bring down on themselves by turning on their leader." This felt to me like foreshadowing of Vader taking out Emperor.
In chapter 22 Teller and Tarkin debate the Empire's merits. Teller: "Subjugating Separatists was practice for subjugating the galaxy." Tarkin: "Monster? That's a point of view, is it not?" Teller: "The more you try to coerce the disadvantaged to play by your rules, the more they will rebel. I'm not the only one." Any time I see the word "rebel" in Star Wars I obviously think of the Rebel Alliance.
Also not any type of foreshadowing but Tarkin's comment about being a monster being a subjective point of view hammers home the point that bad guys usually do not view themselves as the bad guy.
