Okay, I want to hazard a guess about how this turns out. I'm on p. 206, so if I'm right I probably should have figured it out sooner. There were clues. But I was staying up too late reading last night. That's my excuse, anyway. And--just in case I'm right--I'm going to put this behind "spoiler" brackets so nobody will see it by accident. Here goes: (view spoiler)[Nelson and Linette have been having an affair all along, but wouldn't marry because of the religious difference and the fact their families wouldn't accept it. I'll also l guess that it's Linette who wouldn't marry Nelson, not vice versa. That last part was also part of a plot in another book I read. If this is what happened, it could have played into Robbin's death. Yes I know it was an accident. Won't put too much energy into that until I find out... (hide spoiler)] ...Time to go read and find out if I'm right!

But would have made more sense. As is, Nelson came across callous. Unless I missed something from reading while sleepy. If he had at heart been in love with someone verboten, leading to a Prince Charles-Lady Diana-Camilla-like triangle, it could have been more understandable. See what I mean, Stacey (or whoever else has read it)? ...and there is a hint of that via the words of Natalie.

Yep, and we're on the "final conclusions" page. So others read at their own risk. ...Even though I put my hypothesis behind the spoiler brackets, which was just in case somebody saw it by accident.

Wondering if the way the patrons at the kosher resort spoke and behaved is fairly accurate, since outside my experience. Also, I thought the overall drift is "getting even," that is, you won't let us even stay there so we'll marry your sons and entrench ourselves. 😊 Meanwhile, overall impact of intermarriage not broached.
