Are you planning to read any more of the Drizzt books? If so, I'd like to join from Streams of Silver onwards.
I think I'm going to see how I feel after book 3 since I loved book 1 but wasn't a huge fan of book 2.
I thought the first/prequel trilogy went downhill from the first book...
I liked the second/original trilogy more...
Ratings for the first 6 books: 4/3/2 -- 4/3/4
If you're unaware, Salvatore wrote the 2nd chronological trilogy first, then went back and filled in the backstory with this trilogy... pretty much everything else is chronological, I think, altho I haven't continued past book 6, yet...

That's interesting Iain. It does have filler written all over it. I also thought Michael Sullivan's writing suffered when he went back and filled in the beginnings of an established friendship with a prequel trilogy.
@Ana I completely agree, this is much better. @Iain @Loriidae That makes so much sense. I thought book two just felt like filler, turns out it was filler. It's a shame because I thought book 1 was excellent.
I'll probably continue later in the year with this series but I'm taking a break after this one to read other things.
Riyria Chronicles is much more than a trilogy... I think MJS plans to write one book for each year of Royce and Hadrian’s friendship pre-Revelations, unless interest wanes...
Disappearance of Winter’s Daughter was book 4... Dumindor is the planned 5th book...

Oh ok.. that explains a lot. :)
I am up to Ch 5 and my heart is breaking for our Drizzt!!! He only wants to make friends, and everyone is assuming that he is a bad guy:'(:'(:'(... I wish he could communicate with the kids somehow...
@Choko I feel so bad for him too! He needs to learn the lingo! He needs a little white flag or something, to show he doesn't mean violence!
I finished it, it was okay 3 stars. Not much to say really I was just not into it. I'm so disappointed as I genuinely loved book 1.
@Ana I just felt like the story was really disjointed. It was very much go to a place, have a conflict, go to another place, have a conflict etc.

I wonder if (view spoiler)
@Shaitarn I guess that's what happens when you write a direct prequel series, you have to try and fit your plot in in a way that doesnt upset already established storylines. I would have preferred three books covering Drizzt's first 40 years in Menzoberranzan rather than 1 book in the city and 2 books with him just wandering about from place to place.
