Goodreads has since added it to the site so we can now all add it to our official TBR Lists instead of just our mental ones.
The Dragons of Kellynch
Audible UK has another 2 for 1 sale on for members. Quite a number of Georgette Heyer and P. G. Wodehouse. There's also Juliet Stevenson's performance of North and South, Audible's dramatisation of Emma (with Dame Emma Thompson as the narrator) and Rosamund Pike's performance of Sense and Sensibility.
Thanks, Chelsea, you're on top of things. I grabbed my dragon book with both hands and am looking forward to the great giveaway over at AuAu. They are so generous every quarter. Good luck everyone.
In my message #22, I failed to mention Lennie Brown's 4-book collection sale only lasts until next week [March 7-14]. Sorry about that.
$0.99 countdown deal from Timothy Underwood: 6 days 5 hrs:Writerly Ambitions: An Elizabeth and Darcy Story

Okay. In some discussions and reviews, I've seen people occasionally mention that it's difficult for them to accept a plot with cousins marrying. And I get that, but it's never bothered me with historical novels because it wasn't a thing back then. So I was reading Abagail's review of Frederica and decided I wanted to know just how restrictive are the US laws for marrying relatives. And I stumbled across an entertaining descriptive list. https://11points.com/11-state-laws-ma...
I enjoyed it thoroughly and read two other of his lists as well. I was considering seeing if I could subscribe in some way to read his lists for a while, but decided that his ideas of what's OK and my ideas don't really mesh. One of the lists he had was 11 things the Bible bans. And as clearly a non-Christian, he doesn't have a full understanding of the Bible, and I felt that he was dismissive and critical of it, which I'm not okay with. So I refrained from attempting to do so. Regardless, I really did want to pass along this link to any of you who are interested. Happy Monday! (It's 12:09.)
On a totally unrelated note, just because I felt like sharing - I've got my second wind, apparently. Laughing does that.
I told my kids that on Saturday at 3:30 PM, we were going to spring forward because I wanted the entire family to get the same amount of sleep. And so we had dinner early. I happy I had the idea of making the announcement early in the day and to let the kids know when we would be doing it so that we were all on board with the plan. Have a great day, everyone.
By the way, Marlene, in Frederica the hero and heroine aren't really related, just distant connections by marriage. They merely call each other cousins so that society won't question the marquis's introducing them to society (which in any case he gets his sister to do). He also sometimes acts as the guardian of the younger children although it is not a formal arrangement. One aspect of the story that might well trouble you, though, is that at the beginning the hero has a couple of mistresses--one a prostitute in his keeping and the other a married woman. He sheds them almost immediately, but it is a sordid aspect of the society Heyer is writing about.
I like your plan for dealing with the time change! I always glump about it--I like standard time and hate it when we go into Daylight Saving.
https://m.facebook.com/MyLoveforJaneA... just posted another freebie recently.
Elizabeth Bennet's Wedding: A Pride and Prejudice Variation
Abagail,Thanks! Yeah, that's an aspect of Heyer that I don't really enjoy. To me, relationships such as that mar the happiness I feel in a hero and heroine getting together. It's a factor that I tolerate in some Regencies, and try to wipe it from my brain as I continue the story. I've actually read Frederica, but didn't remember how closely they were related.
As for the time change - it IS annoying. However, some of my kids go about five houses down the street for the bus stop, and I appreciate the brightness from the time adjustment.
One of my sisters lives in Alaska, and she finds it annoying because it doesn't even HELP them due to their very strange daylight hours throughout the year.
I share your discomfort! I like romances best in which the author convinces me that the couple will be compatible in terms of personality, sure, but also values. And a man who has indulged in a lot of affairs clearly doesn't value women very highly. I don't fully believe he'll make an exception for one "special" woman. He may intend to, but when the pressure is on, old habits reassert themselves.
Leenie Brown posted at AuAu about her Choices series with an excerpt. https://austenauthors.net/loves-quiet...
Don't forget to check out their Quarterly Giveaway Prize list. There is some fine swag listed. That is one generous bunch of authors.

Hello. Those who enjoy sequels will be interested in my new book, "Her Summer at Pemberley," telling Kitty's story from a year or so after Lizzy and Jane married and moved away. I always felt there was more to Kitty than we saw in the book or films. Find it here, and in more locations in the coming 2 weeks. I'd love to hear what you think of it! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08...Hope I've posted this correctly.
Yep - perfectly, Salliane! I'd seen your Facebook post yesterday and already have it loaded onto my Kindle, though it'll probably be a couple of weeks before I have time to read it. Interesting premise - there aren't many Kitty stories out there!

Ooooh, that's such a great book! If you haven't read it yet, this is a great opportunity to grab a copy and put it at the top of your TBR pile. Intense, and there's mature content, but it's an excellent read.
A piece of news from yesterday's UK budget that got buried under all the concerns over Covid-19. From December, those of us on this side of the pond will no longer have to pay VAT (sales tax to my US friends) on ebooks. Just a shame that it hasn't been extended to audiobooks, too. And on the Covid-19 front, as the UK moves into the "delay phase" rather than containment, I wish everyone, everywhere, well and that if you do catch it, that it's relatively mild. Take care, stay safe, and keep washing those hands!

Thanks, it just reached my area of Ohio recently and I have been trying to be cautious and diligent about using sanitizer while out and antibacterial soap as soon as I get home. Hope everyone is staying safe and doing well.
It has been loose in the community here in the Bay Area for about a month and of course we have no idea how extensive it is because there is no organized testing. Pretty much staying home.I'm lucky to be able to stay home without starving. I'm so afraid for people whose ability to pay bills depends on being out in public places, as well as all the doctors and nurses and first responders. In the City of San Jose, three firefighters have already tested positive, and they exposed another 60 who are now in quarantine. The potential for disaster is almost limitless.
And some members of the public aren't helping matters here, either. I'm a community pharmacist and all community pharmacies now have notices on their doors and windows asking people not to enter if they've been abroad and have the symptoms of Covid-19 but to go home and phone for advice. Of course, there have to be some who think that advice doesn't apply to them! I guess it's only a matter of time before I catch it. Thankfully, I'm otherwise in good health.
Oh yes! We have lots of people here in the States who think the rules don't apply to them! And those who feel compelled to defy the advice of Authority, and are gathering in groups simply because they are told not to. (One can't help but think "natural selection.") But I hate that those people put people like you at risk! Hoping the best for you and all those serving the common good.
Many thanks for those kind words, Abigail.Amongst the copious amounts of new briefing documents we, as health professionals, have received today is what I think is a pretty good "idiots' guide" to self-isolation, published on the British government website. I've no idea what information has been published in other countries and also if this link will work for you dear friends outside the UK, but I thought I'd post it anyway. Please let me know if it does or doesn't work.
https://www.gov.uk/government/publica...
Obviously, this is written as part of the guidance issued yesterday by the British government for our particular circumstances, so parts of it won't apply everywhere, but there's some really good general guidance in there that will.
