Just got to Ch 9. I agree Vickie, this is a great start!!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! I slept most of the day yesterday, that and some vitamin C (as prescribed, thank you Marie Helene) have me feeling better this morning. And who knew you could catch a cold like that over a buddy-read, Ginger?! 🤣

Anyway, I did read up to ch9 and agree, good start.

I don't know about Georgia but I agree about the ghost being super vengeful. I've rarely seen such a persistently malevolent entity in a story.

Well, my cold came back with a vengeance over the weekend and yesterday, but I’m back to work and on my normal schedule again, so I hope to make progress on this again. I’m on ch12 right now, I believe.

I think I’m at ch19 now. I agree with your spoiler above Ginger. This book is like the proverbial train wreck you can’t look away from! And Craddock is something else - pure evil it seems. How does this have 200 more pages?? I am, however, having a little bit of trouble feeling sympathy for Jude. He’s not the most likable of characters so far.

I know, right? I thought, wow, Hill is jumping right into it. What can possibly happen in the rest of the book??😄 And totally agree, Jude is tough to take, most of the time.

Just happened across this thread, and I've already read this book -- not a comfortable read. That having been said, I really liked it! Hope the rest of you here find merit in its deeply uncomfortable story.

I'm totally getting all that Diane! It's definitely not a comfortable read but I am liking it!
