Other great CLI-Fi options (in my opinion) are #2 The Windup Girl and #3 The Water Knife by Paolo Bacigalupi
Your selection for Option 1 must be from your Goodreads ‘want to read’ list.If you joined Goodreads after February 2017 then any 3 books still on your Want to Read shelf from the year that you joined, will qualify. Make it clear in your post when you joined Goodreads.
What if I haven't been a Goodreads member for three years? I joined in August 2017 and I don't have any books that fit the first task.
If you have no books that we’re tagged ‘want to read’ (and not read) before February 2017, then any of the 3 books that have spent the longest amount of time on your Goodreads shelf would qualify. So something you tagged in August or September 2017 would count - just make it clear in your post when you joined.
I did not start using the Goodreads To-Be-Read (now called Want-To-Read) shelf until 2018. And only use it for those books where I enter a giveaway (and am required to put the book on my WTR list). I've always kept my tbr in an excel spreadsheet. So can I read any of the books published 2016 or earlier? (There are at least a thousand of them...)
Okay .. so can I use the existing WTR list I have on Goodreads ... which I first began using in 2018? (Even though I joined in 2008)

This spring I’m refocusing my family on building sustainable, eco-friendly habits. Sustainable living starts with our daily routine, so one of our goals is to pay attention to reducing our impact while doing daily chores and cleaning at work or home. I’m also choosing repurposed, recycled/upcycled, regifted/pre-loved, ‘naked’ (no packaging) options whenever they are available.
For this challenge, think about regifting an opportunity (to yourself) from your ‘want to read’ shelf, exploring the dark side of climate change fiction or just having a bit of a clean up.
This is a one book task. Choose one option and read a book that meets the criteria of that option.
Required: State the option and a brief task description in your post.
Option 1. Read a book that has been on your Goodreads ‘To be Read’ shelf for 3 years or more. If you joined Goodreads less than 3 years ago (after February 2017), you may choose one of the 3 books that has been on your TBR shelf the longest.
Required: State the date you added the book to your shelf when you post. If you've been on GRs less than 3 years, include the date you joined.
Option 2. Read a book from one of the following lists:
Cli-Fi: Climate Change Fiction
Best Sustainability Nonfiction
Required: State which list and what page of the list your book can be found on when you post.
Option 3. Read a book with the word “CLEAN” intact in the title, subtitle, or series title.
Ex: The Trauma Cleaner: One Woman's Extraordinary Life in the Business of Death, Decay, and Disaster; The Happiness Project: Or Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun; Hazardous Duty (Squeaky Clean Mysteries #1)
