I recently finished Where the Salmon Run. This book is about Billy Frank Jr., the most visible facilitator of the Indian Fish wars in Washington state. I think this is very relevant to NW Natives but could have impact on other tribes facing similar issues. Getting ready to start Braiding Sweetgrass. I don't know much about it. Was recommended at work and has generally positive reviews. The writer is a biology professor and a member of Potawatomi tribe.
I finished the book Great Short Stories by Contemporary Native American Writers edited by Bob Blaisdell. This edition was remarkable for bring short stories by writers from different generations of writers and also for its themes. There's drama but also humorous stories, and some both at the same time.
