stormhawk | 1184 comments I saw Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa for the first time tonight. Very enjoyable. I needed something funny to watch tonight, and it certainly fit the bill. I love the penguins.

message 2: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shadowrose) I finished watching The Big Band Theory season 2 today, I absolutely love that show.

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 654 comments We're watching the first full-length Futurama movie, Bender's Big Score tonight. My husband got me into the show a while back, and it's pretty funny.

message 4: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (moochgoddess) | 92 comments Friends is awesome. I actually watch a season or three of Friends after breakups. ALWAYS makes me feel better.

message 5: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I used to LOVE Friends. Then we lost cable. We have the first 7 seasons on dvd so that's what my husband watched.... EVERY DAY. I can't take it anymore...I refuse to watch it now! lol

I watched Cougartown last night and Courtney Cox-Arquette is still freakin' HILARIOUS.

message 6: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (moochgoddess) | 92 comments I just watched the first two episodes of Vampire Diaries. OW OW! I missed the third one because I wasn't caught up, oh well. At least we can watch them online!

message 7: by Literary Lusts (new)

Literary Lusts (literarylusts) I'm a big Supernatural, True Blood, and Project Runway fan so those are what I've been watching lately when I can. I keep missing Vampire Diaries but I'm curious about it. I read the books ages ago in high school.

message 8: by new_user (new)

new_user Third ep was good, Barbara. :D

Ugh... I should have started watching them earlier today!

It's a good show. And if you get bored with the story line there are excellent young men to devour.

I've mostly been catching up on all of the Psych shows. I have to say that it is a great series, and never fails to put me in a good mood. :)

Did anyone watch Eastwick?

message 11: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I watched it, Joy! I really liked it. I have it set on my DVR weekly!

message 12: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) Joy, I saw the first ep of Eastwick. I didn't think I was going to care for it but I really did. I thought there was no way they could get someone as good as Jack Nicholson but the guy they got is devilish! (Pun intentional!) I'm going to stick with it.

I'm into too many tv shows right now. Let's see... Heroes, Castle, Glee, Fringe, Eastwick, Dollhouse, Robin Hood (BBC America), Family Guy, and I'll add The Tudors to the list in a few months. Plus I've been watching the first season of Carnivale through Netflix.

message 13: by Cindi (new)

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) I so wanted to love Eastwick but just couldn't get into the first ep. The devil has a great voice but otherwise bugged me. Should I have given it another chance? I'm like you, Jaimie, I have too many shows to watch now and I don't even LIKE watching TV! Castle, Being Human (yummy vamp!), Trauma, Criminal Minds, Merlin . . . . and can't wait for Three Rivers and White Collar. When will I read?

message 14: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shadowrose) Well so far I've started watching Supernatural, America's Next Top Model, The Big Bang Theory, and House. Plus what ever else my roommate gets hooked on.
I just finished off season 1 of Supernatural and I'm about 5 episodes into season 2, I'm seriously working to catch up with the current season...

message 15: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I have my nightly tv schedule (might b why my reading has diminished).
Monday - Heroes, House, Castle
Tuesday - Biggest Loser, NCIS & NCIS LA
Wednesday - Eastwick, So U Think U Can Dance, Glee, Cougartown
Thursday - Greys Anatomy, Private Practive, Fringe, Flashforward, Bones, The Mentalist (this day has a BUSY DVR)
Friday - Ghost Whisperer, Dollhouse, Numbers

I know...it's a little pathetic that I watch SOOO much. lol
And now that we have cable I watch even more. ugh...

message 16: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 1184 comments I am somewhat ashamed to admit that I watched Split Ends on Style Channel. But I had an excuse. One of the salons in the swap tonight (Citrus) is less than 5 minutes from my house.

message 17: by Erin (new)

Erin (erinlouise429) elvia - dont be ashamed of your full dvr! i also have a long list of shows to record. but i love them all! only bummer is that i have heroes, house and how i met your mother that are all on at the same time so i have to watch how i met your mother on hulu.com
but its a great show so it is worth it!

I am loving Eastwich, the forgotten, flash forward, and others.
I'm looking forward to November 3rd when V begins. :)
LOL I just looked at my TiVo and...between my husband and I, we have 62 seasons that record. LOL Wow, I think we spend too much time watching TV!

message 19: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 1184 comments Marley & Me was on HBO last night.

I bawled.

I saw it coming, and I was still crying buckets.

message 20: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) Cindi wrote: "When will I read?"

I know! I'm so behind on my reading right now and I actually have a reading theme this month (Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes, The October Country and The Halloween Tree).

Joy, I'm looking forward to V too. Though, I saw a preview of it yesterday and I'm not too sure about the chick they have playing the lead visitor. It's Inara from Firefly. I'll be surprise if she can pull it off.

My dvr's hurting too between me and my husband. He's got all his wrestling shows and it's football season (he works Sundays so I set the games up to record for him) and his addiction to the Military Channel and my addiction to shows on ancient Egypt. And it's October so Turner Classic Movies has been filling my dvr up with great old horror movies! I think my head is going to explode! LOL!

message 21: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) My friend and I took her 3 year old son to see Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D yesterday. He's obsessed with Buzz Lightyear. It was fun. You forget how cute those movies are if you haven't seen them in a while.

message 22: by new_user (new)

new_user I had no idea what V was about until I saw a commercial about it for the first time yesterday, LOL! It looks good!

message 23: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) Check out the original V. It was really good.

message 24: by new_user (last edited Oct 11, 2009 12:41PM) (new)

new_user When was the original made? I like shiny new production values, LOL.

message 25: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) The original V was in the 80's wasn't it? A mini-series. I loved it!
I can't wait for it to start!
Thanks Erin! I appreciate that I'm not the only one who watches WAY too much tv! lol

message 26: by Mawgojzeta (new)

Mawgojzeta Just started watching Stargate Universe. Liking it so far.

message 27: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) Elvia wrote: "The original V was in the 80's wasn't it? A mini-series. I loved it!"

Yeah, really early 80's. There was the mini-series and a made for tv movie. Not sure which came first, though.

message 28: by Kristina (new)

Kristina | 778 comments Mm, I think tonight was the first time I've watched T.V. in a long time. And it was a hockey game. Go Sabres!

message 29: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) So we've had the flu in this house since Wednesday. I've been watching On Demand and catching up on my dvr recordings lol. I'm watching Accidentally On Purpose right now. Funny stuff.

Is anyone going to tune in to "Legend of the Seeker" when it starts up for season 2 on November 6th?

I'm excited for "V" to start too! It looks really good. I never saw the original, but I might watch it after the new show starts. I don't want to have any preconceived notions when I begin to watch the new version...

message 33: by Terri (new)

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 188 comments V has been pretty decent so far, but I am not hanging on it

message 34: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 1184 comments New show on BBC America ... Demons.

It seems like a bit too Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but has a lot of potential. I like Philip Glenister, who starred in Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes.

I watched the first episode and it looked good. I'll keep watching since it's pretty much the only thing on Saturday nights! lol

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

I finally got to see an episode of Charmed this AM and didn`t pay attention to which station it was on,darn it !I wish they would put it on when I would most likely see it,it`s usually on late at night,

message 37: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I think Charmed comes on TNT.

message 38: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 1184 comments Went to the movies two weeks in a row ... saw Avatar in IMAX 3-D, and then Book of Eli. Avatar was visually striking, glad I saw it in a theater, but the plot is pretty simplistic ... I've been referring to it as "Dances with Flying Lizards." I loved Book of Eli, but I have a fondness for the post-apocalyptic genre.

Mawgojzeta stormhawk wrote: "been referring to it as 'Dances with Flying Lizards.'"

stormhawk | 1184 comments Demons, on BBC Amnerica.

I like Philip Gleinster, but it's weird hearing him try to do an American Accent. By "try" I mean "not succeed."

message 41: by Judy (new)

Judy N. | 3 comments I sometimes hate to admit I really love TV! Some of my faves are NCIS, NCIS:LA, CSI:Miami & NY, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Leverage, The Closer, Three and Half Men, Cougartown...whew! My favorite all time show is not on anymore...sigh...NYPD Blue!

I KNEW he wasn't american. You can absolutely tell he was "trying" to be american and definitely not succeeding! lol Oh well, it's still a good show!

message 43: by Mawgojzeta (new)

Mawgojzeta Enjoyed the first full season of "V".

Hope the next season is good. Also, hope they do not make the mistake of dragging this story out too long. I think it could be great if they end it after the second or third season.

I completely agree, Mawgojzeta. It's good but it should be just like a really long movie. It has to have an ending.

So You Think You Can Dance has started...it's my guilty pleasure. Love it. I read during commercials. lol

Elvia (elvb) It's almost that time of year again! My dvr is going to be full. :)

message 48: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 1184 comments Law Abiding Citizen ... intense, set in Philadelphia, and I caught a cameo by the current Mayor, Michael Nutter.

message 49: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) That's a great movie! I just saw it a few weeks ago.

message 50: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Myhill (michellemyhill) We're watching Season 4 of Dexter on DVD right now. Love, love, love this show! This season is one of my favorites so far. John Lithgow is creepy, but really good in it!
