why did John green kill Augustus why not hazel, hazel was originally sick.

Maybe John Green killed off Augustus to send Hazel a message? So she could learn a life lessons and maybe because when it's her time to die (if she dies) she'll be okay with it and wont be worried about being a grenade.

From my understanding of cancer you get weaker everytime you get treatment and it seems like to me that agustus got alot of treatment like he only has one good leg now. hazel got alot of treatment also, but agustus got his leg amputated so... yeah thats just what i think

I Agree with that, that Gus lost his leg and all. But we dont truly know how much pain and suffering Gus been through. at one point in the story when Hazel talks about her past she talks about lifting her finger for how much pain she was feeling and she held up 9, because it felt like her lungs were on fire! then at another point in the story Hazel explains how she feels after the loss of Gus. she said she felt like a wave kept pulling her out to shore and slamming her in the Jagged cliff over, and over again. and floating belly up un drowned!
