What are you reading this March?

I'm reading Emma by Jane Austen, The Factory by Hiroko Oyamada and listening to House of Many Ways by Diana Wynne Jones, Special Topics in Calamity Physics and Recursion by Blake Crouch.

Can't wait to hear what everyone else is reading.

Katie (k-tron) | 5 comments I am currently reading and listening to Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi. I am also reading the graphic novel Persepolis book 1 on scribd.

I have a large stack of TBR, along with long lists on Audible and Scribd, so I am not sure what I plan to read next.

Ashley Michelle Brown (brownashleym) I am currently reading Stolen by Lucy Christopher and so far it's really good. I was surprised that this story is a work of fiction because the author writes it like she has experienced it before.

Here's a summary of what's it's about:
"Stolen is the debut novel of author Lucy Christopher. It was published in the UK in 2009 and is the story of Gemma Toombs, a 16-year-old girl who is kidnapped by a 24-year-old man named Ty and taken to the middle of the Great Sandy Desert in the Australian Outback."

I need to get back into Children of Virtue and Vengeance! I love Tomi Adeyemi's work. Persepolis is one of my favorite graphic novels!

I haven't heard of that author before but I'm glad you're enjoying the book. Sounds interesting! Is the author Australian?

Well I finished Emma - LOVED IT. I wouldn't say Emma has grown on me as a character but I really enjoyed reading the book again. The new film is also fantastic and very decadent!

I also recently finished listening to Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu, it's a funny but also sad-but-true novel about a Chinese man in the film industry. Still listening to Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl - it's a long one but really getting good now! And up next will be Circe by Madeleine Miller.

Jade (jaderv) | 1 comments Hi all! Well I finished Special Topics in Calamity Physics and it was interesting. Like I said, it's a long one but I still enjoyed the set up of it all and the mystery in the book. It wasn't the ending I thought it would be but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It had been on my list for a while so I was glad to finally get to it. I want to read more by Marisha Pessl.

And if you haven't read Circe by Madeleine Miller, you should! I absolutely loved it. I haven't read The Odyssey and I want to even more so now but you don't have to have read it in order to read Circe. I could not put it down and when I had to, I just wanted to dive right back in.

I'm working on finishing Conversations with the Fat Girl by Liza Palmer and after that I'll be on to Recursion by Blake Crouch.

What is everyone reading this week?

Katie (k-tron) | 5 comments I just finished the book Fed Up! By Gemma Hartley and it really resonated with me as a woman, mother, and wife. I'm now switching it up and reading a mystery/thriller, Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. Trying to check off one from the Read Around the World Challenge. Persepolis book 1 was fantastic so moving on to book 2

It's been a while since I've read Sharp Objects but I really enjoyed that one! And I love Persepolis! I haven't seen the movie yet but the book is just amazing.

Right now, I'm reading Recursion by Blake Crouch - a SF thriller that deals with memory. I recently finished Mercury by Margot Livesey which was about a woman's obsession with a horse that she cares for and the repercussions of her actions, her husband's and other's around her. I also just read Seconds by Bryan Lee O'Malley, it's a graphic novel and it was amazing.

Katie (k-tron) | 5 comments I have recently won a handful of ebooks on goodreads by entering giveaways so I am trying to get an old tablet set up to read those so I can help write some reviews. In the mean time, I finished Sharp Objects and enjoyed it. I was worried at the beginning that I was not going to like it, but it delivered in the end. I'm now reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak to fulfill the "Germany" category of the LQPL Read Around the World Challenge . I also need to start the Island Beneath the Sea by Isabel Allende as it's my book club's pick for May.

I loved The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek! I haven't read Elizabeth Acevedo's latest but I have loved all her other ones. A Woman is No Man sounds really interesting! I hope you're enjoying your current reads/listens.

I finished and loved Lolly Willowes as well as Mexican Gothic. Still working on Teach Me and Solutions & Other Problems. I'm also listening to The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan.

I recently finished listening to Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin which was a very angry and ruthless YA read that was inspired by Macbeth. Really interesting!
