I have yet to read any of her work, but I've been eyeing The Hunger Angel for a while as a starting point.

I have also been eyeing the Hunger Angel. I just hope you're not in too much of a hurry, because my schedule is already starting to look pretty full....

I have no problem putting it on hold for awhile. I'm facing a similar predicament.

Either July or November works for me! I hope to be travelling in August so that's a no go since I usually disconnect from all things internet...

Okay, since the rest of the year is filling up at the speed of light, could we schedule this for November, then?
If I 'advertise' it in the group schedule for November now, we may pick up a few buddies to come along for the ride, by then.

Not at all! I can relate - I've got a similar situation for other months... this group is definitely a success!

either works for me. I'm still scared to sit down and really see how many reads I've agreed to.

lately, I've just decided I may jump on to those that are upcoming if the mood feels right for that specific author/book. scheduling can take the spontaneity out of reading... which is not to say it's a bad thing entirely, but it can also lead to one feeling a bit overwhelmed! and reading should be for pleasure, and in no way feel like a chore of any kind!

True, but it is more fun to read in a group, so I'm at least going to make an attempt at being realistic.

I'll set it for November 15, then, and see how it goes.

maybe that will then allow others to read Muller's The Appointment before then (I plan on re-reading it probably in April or May) or for a group read of that to form before November rolls around.

I've not read any other work by her, but starting with The Appointment for me was the right path for me: I have read parts of Nadirs and skimmed a bit in Hunger Angel, but neither really grabbed me by the jugular in the way The Appointment did. and it was reading that book that makes me now want to go back and pay Muller the attention she wholeheartedly deserves!
