The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People question

Has anyone used a non-fiction book as part of their sales funnel to drive people to an online course? If so, how did you incorporate this? I've researched online courses and am creating a course related to the material but different than the book's content. However I would like to reference the course as secondary material. What are best practices?
