I basically just posted it here upon other people's request. I do have the book, but I definitely won't be able to attend in May, and I think not in March either, the way things have been going...(especially not with Good Morning Midnight coming up, which had been a last-minute decision...:( )
Will you take over on convening that discussion, please Lesley?
I am glad to take over - if you can tell me what that means! Is it just starting off the conversation and keeping an eye on it? Still not sure if this discussion is on for March or May, or both? :)
I will be reading Enchi in May (hopefully - I think the end of May would be best as May is looking busy!) I think the calendar still has it in March as it's showing March 13 at the top of the main page?
Looks like May! I am happy to convene the discussion, as requested. I haven't read Enchi but have read some other Japanese authors - The Makioka Sisters" is one of my favourite books. Does anyone else rate it? I was in a bookshop about a year ago and saw some women looking at it quizzically, considering it. I wanted to grab them and say, 'yes! yes! READ IT" but I had a funny feeling that that might be slightly scarey.
Lesley wrote: "I am glad to take over - if you can tell me what that means! Is it just starting off the conversation and keeping an eye on it? No, for May. I changed the dates - in both the March and the May folders?
Looks like folks are reading Quicksand by Nella Larsen starting 1st March (I am late - I didnt know about it and I'm reading A Proper Marriage)I made a discussion thread, hope it's OK
