Jasmine and I (I'm hoping to convince a few more friends) want to read Rikki Durconet's The Fan-Maker's Inquisition: A Novel of the Marquis de Sade back-to-back with Angela Carter's The Sadeian Woman: And the Ideology of Pornography. This project will start on November 1 and finish around late December.
EDIT: This has now been moved on to December 15, and we're starting with Simone De Beauvoir's The Second Sex instead.
Kris and I want to read Into That Darkness: An Examination of Conscience by Gitta Sereny , starting on December 1.Discussion thread here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Can we move this one on to January or February?
Zanna and I are planning on reading The Left Hand of Darkness"The Left Hand of Darkness" by Ursula K. Le Guin in December. And we'll be happy if more want to join in! :-)
A thread will be opened when we start reading.

I would like to join you in December - will have time then
I've realised there are three books before Left Hand in the Hainish cycle, so my ocd compels me to read them all first argh! So now I've ordered four books...
lol, yeah! I am reading Worlds of Exile and Illusion: Rocannon's World, Planet of Exile, City of Illusions right now. (Which contains all three of them). I don't think it's important to read them in this order specifically, as any book in the Hanish Circle works perfectly as a stand alone, they are hardly interconnected. But I wanted to read them more to get a more complete impression of Le Guin as a writer, she is so amazing. And these three novels are her very first novels, as I gather. They are all pretty short, and maybe you can tell that she had just started out with them, but I'm really enjoying them. So far I read "Rocannon's World", and just finished "Planet of Exile" last week. And now I'm at the beginning of "City of Illusions". Unlike the other Le Guin I've read, with these I always find it kind of hard to get "into" them in the beginning, but after a few pages I really enjoyed them and Le Guin's writing. :-)So have fun! But don't feel like you need to have read them before "Left Hand...", I don't think the order matters.
Still on my Year of Reading Women shelf unread:The Man Who Loved Children
The Age of Innocence
