I'm currently reading four books, German Women Writers of the Twentieth Century (short story anthology), Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi, listening to Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-Joo on audio, and starting part 3 of War and Peace by Tolstoy. I hope to finish these first three in a day or two, since I only have a few chapters left of each of them. I'll continue reading War and Peace throughout the months of April and May (I'm reading one part each month). It definitely counts for TBR Clear Out since it's been on my shelf for more than 20 years. :D
I'm currently reading Shockaholic, which doesn't count for the readathon but I might finish it today anyway.I'm also about to start The Great Dune Trilogy. I added the first book in the trilogy back in 2012, but never got around to reading it. The trilogy is close to 1000 pages, so I'll be entertained for a while!
Just picked my first couple of books- The Killer Inside Me by Jim Thompson and Mona Lisa Overdrive by William Gibson on audiobook.
i am continuing the 3 books i started a week or 2 ago. the audiobook The Trespasser by Tana French, Corvus A Life With Birds by Esther Woolfson, and a light read of Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs by Caitlin Doughty.
I've started out by reading The Last Palace: Europe's Turbulent Century in Five Lives and One Legendary House by Norman Eisen and The Ragamuffin Gospel: Good News for the Bedraggled, Beat-Up, and Burnt Out by Brennan Manning.
Freya wrote: "I've started to buddy read The Time Traveller's Wife. I'm also reading Thomas Hardy's The Mayor of Casterbridge. I'm really enjoying both books."Freya, I loved The Time Traveller's Wife. I hope you do, too. The Mayor of Casterbridge has been on my TBR for a long time. I hope it's great!
I've just started Gone Girl audiobook and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Illustrated ed. it's not a clear out read as it just came out in 2019 but it fits a prompt for the OWLS.
I am currently reading Ruin's Wake by Patrick Edwards. I'm totally hooked. I'm also reading The Cut Out Girl by Bart Van Es. It's good too, Costa Book of the Year in 2018, apparently.
Hello, #TBRClearOut Readers! I am focusing on my TBR ARCs for this Readathon to offer as much support as I can to authors who are launching their new book right now...
April 1: Started reading The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd set to be released on April 21.
Will be including this book in my April TBR Booktube video next week with a special shout-out to this #TBRClearOut Readathon (will post the link when my video is published).
Looking forward to everyone's updates... Stay safe... Stay happy... Stay reading... ✨😎✨
I just started reading The Lord of the ring by Tolkien : 1000+ pages, I think now is a good time to finally get to it !
Started reading The Body A Guide for Occupants by Bill Bryson and enjoying it so far. My last library book before I get onto my TBR shelf - not that there's any rush to get it finished :)
buddy reading the Time Traveler's Wife and Fragile Things. I've also dipped into the complete tales of Edgar Alan Poe which I I've had a since high school
I'm reading Wolf by Mo Hayder, so I can finally finish up the Jack Caffery series! I'm currently on page 240/381, so it's going wel. After that I'm probably going to pick up the stuff that has been on my tbr the longest so I can clear that out. (Some books have been on there for over 3 years whoopsie)
I’m currently reading The Air We Breath, by Andrea Barrett, about patients at a TB sanitarium in the early 20th century. My first two finishes from my tbr, were by William Maxwell, who was just a lovely writer. They Came Like Swallows is about the personal repercussions of the 1918 flu pandemic. So Long, See You Tomorrow is about the recollections of a moment in his boyhood, and how he has carried it with him throughout his life. Both are based on actual occurrences in Maxwell’s life.
This challenges has been perfect for getting to books that I’ve long been wanting to read.
I just got done on Saturday with the first book I've been putting off for years, M Train by Patti Smith. I put it off for years because I'd convinced myself I needed to re-read Just Kids before reading it, which wasn't true and I'm annoyed at myself for putting it off so long!I'm now reading Finders Keepers by Stephen King. This doesn't really count as a book I've had on my TBR for ages, but I want to try and keep up with my series' that I'm reading. Then I'll get back to some older books!
Hey Fellow Readers! I just started Moonwalking with Einstein and picking up We are not Refugees again.
Have a great week
Finished The Body A Guide for Occupants by Bill Bryson which was an enjoyable mix of our current understanding of physiology, bizarre facts and historical anecdotes.Have now started Gulliver's Travels, which I've been putting off for a couple of years but am actually quite enjoying, and Heaven to Betsy by Maud Hart Lovelace, which I meant to read last year but got sidetracked.
I’m reading The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton as a buddy read with my mom. So far I’m really enjoying it. I’m picking up The Glass Woman and Rebecca vibes.
Hi everyone, my readathon has taken an unexpected twist as I’ve decide it to focus it on all of the children’s and YA books I’ve accumulated over the past year. I’ve got so many longer, serious books I want to get though that these keep getting put off. I’m currently reading The Riddle of the Runes by Janina Ramirez. Happy reading everyone!

I'm now catching up with the Complete Stories of Raymond Carver, and have finally started American Gods by Neil Gaiman, having put it off for about 6 years :)
I finished The lord of the rings and loved it so much ! I also read (and enjoyed very much) Expo 58 by Jonathan Coe. I'll soon get to an eco-thriller by Gert Nygardshaug (book #2, I read the first several years ago) 😀

I just finished Jonathan Coe's Expo 58 : I've had it for years on my shelf and just didn't read it... because I love the author so much I knew I would love it, if that makes any sense ! Well, it's done, I'm happy and moving on with Barchester Towers.Barchester Towers by Anthony Trollope is not on my TBR clearout but I have it on my kindle, where are books that I'm supposed to read at night if I can't sleep, and I laugh so much while reading it that I have to read it during the day !
hi everyonei have finished The Tresspasser by tana French and still working on Corvus by Esther Woolfson and If we Were Villains. wow April is half over!
Mid-month update:I am slowly, slowly plodding through Clarissa. Unfortunately I am only on Letter 41, working with Penguin's paperback of the first edition combined with the Naxos audiobook of the third edition. Obviously, I won't be done by the end of the month, but I feel a great sense of satisfaction nonetheless. I chuckled today at the references to Pamela while listening to an audiobook for The Haunting of Hill House...there is so much emphasis on that novel which is by all accounts inferior. I wish there were more reviews and discussions about Clarissa.
A few days ago, I finished The Thirteenth Tale, which I regret to say I did not love as much as I wanted/expected to. What disappoints me is that it could have been a truly great book, were it not for the poor grammar and inattention to the role of language in character development. A bit more care would have elevated that book so much.
Now I am about one quarter of the way through my first Kate Morton book (The Clockmaker's Daughter), and the writing is so beautiful. I am enjoying this book thoroughly. Thank you, Ms. Lumsden, for bringing some of these historical fiction novels to my attention! I have just checked The Wonder out from the library and it will be next.
Vanessa wrote: "I'm now catching up with the Complete Stories of Raymond Carver, and have finally started American Gods by Neil Gaiman, having put it off for about 6 years :)"A friend gave me American Gods a couple of years ago and I still have not read it. I would love to know what you think of it!

If the book wasn't so big, I'd love to read it too now - but I'm only just out of another big book and need to breathe ! Yet I'm definitely curious about Clarissa...
I finished 'War and Peace' by Tolstoy, 'The Best of Saki' by H.H. Munro (Saki), and 'The Bridges of Madison County' by Robert James Waller. Now I'm reading 'The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender'.
Recently finished, The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner. It had been on my bookshelf since 1978 (my senior year of undergraduate school).Currently reading, The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan. While this is a reread for me, I first read the hard back copy my grandfather gave me over 50 years ago that was published in 1917. I finally read it about 18 months ago. Now I am reading a more recent edition I have had about two years.
