I've made it through the Hobbit, Fellowship of the Rings, and half of the Two Towers, and I just got so bored... I was also eleven, so maybe I need to start again, but it's just SO LONG! But I loved the Hobbit!
definitely my fave book series are Hunger Games and Mortal Engines
Oh yeah! I've read the first books of those last two and they're both fantastic!

yeah Harper go for it .. it's such a cool world I love it with all my heart. I need to read the 2nd and third and 4th soon because the last time I read them were like 7 years ago :(

I read the Renegade books. I liked them, but there were several things that I didn't like. And I don't think I'd like them so much anymore, even though I read them like the end of last year. Lol
The Hundred Cupboards!! I love that series. I attempted a review, but, rats! I couldn’t do it justice!
Is Mortal Engines like the Hunger Games?
My sister is reading the Hundred Cupboards series! She loves them.
I can't remember. She's read the blue one, the green one, and the orange one, and that's all I know. Lol Does that help? haha
It’s a trilogy, so she must have read them all! (Well, actually there’s a prequel, but it’s a bit different.)

hey Anndromeda, Mortal Engines isn't like the Hunger games , no. its where towns and cities run out wheels and compete for resources. its so good everyone needs to read it haha :))
Oops! About Mortal Engines, I should have clarified. I know it’s not like hunger games in plot–I should have asked if it is like it in tone. (Also do a lot of people die and is it a odd-eat-dog type of story?)And the Hundred Cupboards series gets really different in the 2nd and 3rd books, though there definitely is a similarity to Narnia!
It totally is like that Anndromeda. Thanks for the clarification! Yeah, a lot of people die, and it’s definitely fend-for-yourself, anything-to-survive kinda book. I guess that’s how I would describe it
Ok, thanks! That’s one of the main reasons I haven’t read the Hunger Games (I just really don’t enjoy that type of book at all.) So even though I know a bunch of people who LOVE the Hunger Games and Mortal Engines, I’m pretty sure I won’t find them worth my time. I really can’t stand that tone. :(
The only reason why I would read those books would be because they come up so often and I feel like I need/want to be knowledgeable. I did that with Percy Jackson (which I did not really enjoy) and Harry Potter (which I did enjoy but probably won’t reread.)
That's why I like movie adaptions, if I don't really want to read the book, I can just watch the movie.

The Princess Bride! All time favorite adaption. Hands down.

The movie is better than the book, IMO, but there are a few extra details in the book. What I enjoyed better than the book was the audiobook by Cary Elwes (Wesley in the movie) As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride
