I ended up going to a bookstore today and buying this. I'm excited to read it when it's time for this buddy read.

I love hardcovers but they're so costly. How do you decide whether to buy or borrow? Do you also read ebooks?

I used to read ebooks sometimes, but I prefer reading physical books. I've been buying more books lately because it's harder for me to get to a library to get books from there when I'm away at school. The hardcovers are expensive, though, especially when I buy them at the store. I often try to buy them from Barnes and Noble's website, since they're cheaper there, and shipping is free with a membership, which I have.

I didn't realize that they books were cheaper online. I know the ebooks are cheaper. I still like both books. I like to see the physical copy of the books prior to buying them because if the print is really small and compact, I like the ebook so I can enlarge the print. I do still love books though. I love the feel of some of them and I love to see how many pages are left as I read. It's hard to tell with ebooks.

Oh yes, the page thing on ebooks can be confusing. I remember when I'd read an ebook and I would go through 3 or 4 of what looked like pages before I had actually read one real page. Also, about the hardcovers being cheaper online, they still aren't as cheap as the ebooks, but I can get them for like $13-$14, instead of $18-$19, so I save a few dollars on them, which adds up a lot in the long run with all the book buying that I do.

Yay! my copy is ready to pick up at the library. I will bring it home with me after work tomorrow :)

I have about 70 pages left of The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley, plus I'm driving total of 9 hours today. I won't get to this one till tonight or tomorrow. It's almost 1:00 in the afternoon here. I'm looking at getting home at 8:30-9:00.

Wow! I can't believe this is the author's debut book! It's really well-written (so far), and it definitely has the flair of mystery, thriller, and (I think) potential for romance.

Stellan is not on my very likable list so far. I don't trust him, and I certainly don't like his quickness to being so threatening as to pull out a knife. I hope he is a good guy.

It sounds like if she's been "mandated, the two hotties have been mandated, and with all the constant moves and "hiding" things about Avery's dad, her mother has no choice in the matter. At least she feels like she has no choice. (hide spoiler)]

Of all places for Avery's (view spoiler)[paternal family to be, Paris seems like one of the more romantic hot spots. It is also romantic in the non-romantic way. (Does that make any sense at all?) If her dad's family lives there, and they have a Circle of 12, and they are able to mandate to at least three people so far, I almost see them as world rulers. LOL (hide spoiler)]

I am not sure that it would be Jack or Stellan, since they work for the families, also since Jack said that it was wrong of him to kiss her. I think it will be someone we haven't met yet. Avery (view spoiler)[She's been in danger this whole trip so far. First and attempted killing and now 2 men are chasing after her. From everything she's been through you can understand why her mother has ketp her hidden from this Circle of 12. (hide spoiler)]

Stellan (view spoiler)[I did not consider him to be the one. I thought it would be someone we have not met yet. If there were clues given indicating he was the one I totally overlooked those. I don't hate his character and he is growing on me, especially after learning about his sister and all he is doing to protect her. It would be dangerous for the families to find out who he really is. This was good, I enjoyed it. The plot was so fast paced. I do wish though that more detail were given in the beginning, trying to piece everything together and figure out what was going on got a bit confusing. Can't wait to see what you guys think. Enjoy.

Chapters 9-16 or 17 were very exciting with a lot of action in them! First, I couldn't believe that Stellan took her to (view spoiler)[the Louvre and her family was a part of something that grand! (hide spoiler)]

Yes, the scene at the (view spoiler)[Prada where not only was Avery attacked, but also two men were killed and Stellan was very nonchalant about it in particular. But Jack was too, I thought. He is, however, more sensitive to Avery. (hide spoiler)]
