BUDDY READ WITH DELA discussion

So I read the first 4 chapters last night--sort of cheated--but it went super quick. I'll finish up to ch.9 tonight and will post my thoughts later. Let's get this discussion rolling...

I really want to know what happened with Eleanor with her mother and husband.

Hmm, opinions on Park? I've never liked a half-Asian kid more. Love him. And I like that this story is set in the 80's. And that Eleanor is so real and imperfect yet perfect.

I love Park he's amazing! I just read the chapter with the fight because the whole bus was making fun of Eleanor and it was so entertaining haha!

And I think it's hilarious reading Park's mom dialogue with her Asian accent. Love it.

I don't know. I mean other than the bullying and the jealousy she hasn't been a huge part in the book. So I feel like it is someone else, but I have no clue. I totally agree. The part in the grocery store when she was like look theres your Eleanor and under it it say (elea nor) I found it so funny haha

Done with the reading today. All I can say is WHAT?! so hard to put it down after you find out who is behind the bullying. Especially bc today's reading stops right in the middle of something. I may keep reading but not spoil anything.

I know me too. I'm the kind of person where I feel I need more. Like the three word thing. Wtf. 'I Love You' or 'I'm coming home'. What does it say?! Probably I love you, but common. Eleanor was bugging me at the end. But then again, I thing she was true to character and her doing anything else may have seemed off. Yeah??

Totally agree! She was bugging me too! I just wanted her uncle to be like no and for Park to take her home or for Park to just take her home anyways! There supposed to be together forever what happened!
