Thanks for the feedback, Wendy. I'll definitely try to figure out a way to pin or otherwise make this sort of post readily visible for next time.

Love it!"
I am in Woodbridge!
It is just charming and so accurate to the book. Though, I am surprised how young Judy Dench appears.
I never put together how in the film Lucy immediately knows the Emersons meant to be kind, but in the book it seems like she waffles a lot more. (I'm sure this is because of the pacing, but still, it makes her character in the film immediately a little more evolved imo.)
I agree Sara! I feel like there was a lot more ambivalence in the book about whether they were in line offering their room or not!

SERIOUSLY.

I love the views of Florence. It brings me back to when I traveled there. Although I didn't have quite a view. Haha
Mr. Emerson seriously kills me so much in this film. His sweetness and good intentions make me want to cry, and this scene with Mr. Eager is so painful.
I remembered being harassed by young Italians while walking on the streets in my young days! What fun!
Remember not having phones/maps and just... wandering? When was the last time you got hopelessly lost traveling?

April wrote: "Wandering or following guide books. What is the best mix?"I always read the guide books before I go somewhere so I know where to make sure to go. Once I'm there I try my best to just explore and wandering.
