I got mine Tuesday and had finished by Tuesday night. Very, very satisfying!

Yep, and I am tired of telling people. They just don't listen until they realize he wrote The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption and Stand by Me. They are flabergasted!

I had quite a long dry spell from reading when my kids were younger, so there are quite a few of his works I have never read. That's why I love that the Stephen King Fans group is reading his work chronologically. I can't wait till we get to the books I haven't read yet!

I heard that too, but I think the person who could do it best would be Frank Darabont.

Screenplay for sure, but director could be any number of people. I think Ang Lee would juxtapose beauty on the ugliness of the story. I wish Justin Bateman would direct this as his first feature. His "eye" is terrific and would really lend itself well to the mood.

The only King book I liked was 11/23/63. I agree that he does do characters and dialogue really well, but the I hate the other books because of all the horror in them.

This late in his career there are so, so many that don't have a horror element at all. 11/22/63 is only one. There's also:
The Shawshank Redemption: The Shooting Script
On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft
The Green Mile
Gwendy's Button Box
The Eyes of the Dragon
Gwendy's Button Box
The Colorado Kid
The Talisman
Joyland
Just to name a few.
