I got it on Audible, so now I just need the time to listen to it!

Ok I finished my mammoth audio of New York, so Im going to start this one on Audio and switch to the paperback when I need to. So I'll post a bit early but use spoiler tags

Part One

Wow. This part started a little slowly, but has sure ended with a bang!
The one thing I have found that would help with this series is a bit more of a reminder of what has already happened, or at least a character list by Silo number... ;)
I totally did not see it coming that Thurman would be alive and woken up. This is really going to cause some problems.
And what about Juliette?! I understand why she is digging, but it would also result in all of them being killed by Silo 1.
I think this book is going to be full of suspense!

OMG, I messed up and put on hold on my Overdrive. Just realised the mistake, I got lucky and was still able to burrow because there were no holds.

@ Karen. (view spoiler)[ me too I also didnt expect Thurman back, first twist of what i expect to be a few in this book. (hide spoiler)] Im enjoying this way more than the Shift books. I think its because Juliette is back who is in my opinion on the best characters in the series.

I agree, she is a great character. I think Holston from the first Wool book was my other favourite

Part Two

Did we know that Silo 40 had been bombed because they'd worked out how to shut off the gas pipes?! These Silo 1 people, or specifically Thurman I suppose, seem to want to be God. It just sickens me. What is the game plan? Why keep killing thousands of people? And in the end all of these except for one Silo? I don't get it.
I was so sad at the end of this section. I can't imagine the guilt that Juliette would be feeling right now. But she, and those that helped her, unknowingly signed them to this fate when she survived the cleaning.
I loved the last line of this section about how the cloud of dust had the "taste of everything she had ever known..." That is what I like about Howey's writing style right in that sentence. He has a great way to describe thoughts and emotions without being too descriptive or verbose.
And what about Charlotte? I have a feeling she will get in that drone and go over to silo 17. I don't see how she can stay there. A woman would be pretty easy to spot in Silo 1!! (hide spoiler)]

Part Three, Chapter 50

I love the line in chapter 49:
"It made him reconsider what made a place dangerous. Maybe it wasn't the place at all"

I'm a little annoyed with chapter 50 actually. We are so close to the end of the book and then Howey throws in this Mr Rash which is just disgusting. I really hope there is a purpose to throwing that in the story other than shock value (hide spoiler)]

It's definitely good to see Juliette again, I've just started, but am immediately right back in this world.

Want to finish up another book first. Hope to start later this week.

I started reading this one today. Just finished Chapter 11.
I'm enjoying seeing Juliette again too.
(view spoiler)[ Dig, dig, dig! Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together. I think she will make it to Solo's silo. I wonder if they could dig their way out of the contaminated area? Is the contamination worldwide, or localised? (hide spoiler)]

I wondered that too Renee. It always confused me how in the last book when Donald walked outside in the suit, he was taken back inside by Thurman and others not wearing a suit.

I think I'm going to have to put this one off for a while. I probably won't get to it until March. I just have too many buddy reads planned. I'm glad to hear Juliette is back though.

Fair enough Kristie. I'd recommend the audio if you can get it.

Just finished Chapter 37.
Very exciting. It's all been quite fast paced so far.
(view spoiler)[ I wasn't expecting Juliets silo to evacuate to the other one. I thought she would manage to shut off the "argon" nanobot gas before they could use it. Like silo 40. As soon as the gas started, I thought that's what she would do though. I wonder who will make it... (hide spoiler)]

Make sure you keep reading after the "A note to the reader" as the Epilogue is after that bit.

@ Karen - I loved that line from Chapter 49 too.

(view spoiler)[ Yay! They made it out, and Silo 1 is down. It seems that the destruction nanobots don't self replicate and die off after a while, or they would have taken over the whole world. I'm glad Charlotte met up with Juliette. I was really hoping Darcy would make it out too. I didn't think Donald would get out. (hide spoiler)]

To Ch. 43(view spoiler)[wow...again! Oddly enough, I'm a little upset at Juliette, I know I shouldn't be because she's trying to figure out the bigger picture, but that is a lot of life to gamble with without taking into consideration what others are thinking. She did what she wanted...period. Maybe I'm feeling a little too raw after these last few chapters. (hide spoiler)]

Finished, and feeling better than I was after Ch. 43.

Good to see Jules again, however, waiting for it to pick up - only to chapter 7, but I can only take so much of digging, machinery, and mechanics = Boring.

For me it seemed to pick up again around Ch. 16, then in spurts.

I'd say Wool Omnibus is my favorite of the trilogy.

One of my favs out of the whole series, I kinda got a bit bored during the shift books but loved Dust.
