Yes, she is a librarian. She does not have Covid-19 but is seriously ill, on a ventilator, unable to talk or have visitors. I can send emails to her at the hospital and am hoping that someone has some book jokes or librarian jokes that might bring a moment of levity to a long day for her and her nurses. Thanks.

I may have heard one or two:
A gentleman steps up to the counter at his local library. "Do you have any books on paranoia?"
The librarian looks over her glasses. "They're right behind you."
This is a book on the Earl of Sandwich. It's a first edition, so those are genuine mustard stains.
Mr. Johnson answers a knock on his door to find a pushy insurance salesperson, who apparently felt every 'no' was just another opportunity. After refusing life, auto, boat and homeowners insurance, Mr. Johnson was truly exasperated. Still the salesman was not ready to give up.
"If homeowners doesn't interest you, how about something for your business." persisted the salesman.
"No problems there either," replied Mr. Johnson. "I write murder mysteries, so I have a lot of experience hiding the bodies of characters who annoys me."
Romance novels exploit women's wildest fantasies:

Husband For Dummies, p.256
...The correct response is always...
Ah, who are we kidding? We don't know.
Husband For Dummies, p.362
Choose wisely:

Hope your friend is well soon.

I have written quite a few flash-fiction pieces featuring libraries and librarians. Not all are funny, but here are links to a couple that are basically silly.

Hi all and thank you.We are all breathing a sigh of relief. Though she is not out of the "stacks" yet, she is on track to be back home in a few weeks. Thanks so much for helping me add a bit of levity to her (or for a long time only her nurses) days.

Trudy, I'm glad to hear your friend is on the mend. It's good to get good news in these times. Hoping she continues to do well, and gets back into circulation...
