☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) Oh such a good trilogy!

ReadingBooks24 | 9 comments It was a fun and memorable read, but nothing great. I believe divergent is better as a book and THG as a trilogy

I read the first book in the trilogy and started reading the second one. It started off kinda boring but I forced myself to continue. I managed to read a couple of chapters but I felt like nothing was really happening, I guess? The story was dragging too much in the start so I stopped but someday, I'll give it another chance because I want to know what all the hype is about.

I didn't actually enjoy the romance between Katniss and Peeta, I preferred Gale and I was annoyed he was just sort of chucked aside when he was always there for Katniss.

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) Oh! I personally loved all the books equally and loved the romance with Peeta.

I completely agree! I saw Peeta and Katniss as siblings trying to protect each other, and I just liked Gale way more.

Does anyone else wonder why did Peeta love Katniss so much? Their romance felt a bit convenient to me, and a bit unexplained.

I always felt like that without his undying love for Katniss, Peeta doesn't really have any other amazing distinguishing personality traits, does he?

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) I mean, I think he does. He’s kind for sure, he’s selfless, he’s understanding, and lots of other things. The romance started as fake, but he truly fell for her, who wouldn’t? Katniss is amazing.

I think I just feel so bad for Gale XXD

message 11: by May (new)

May (theladymidnight) I've always been Team Peeta. Gale annoyed me when he started becoming jealous but I do feel bad for him

message 12: by Connor (new)

Connor Farrell (connorfarrell) Gale was a little too clingy for me... I prefer Peeta.

But the bit when Gale got whipped though... that broke me

message 14: by Nikita (new)

Nikita This was the book series that brought me into the reading world. It will always have a special place in my heart no matter how many new titles take the top of my favorites list

gilliann | 40 comments i love this series. do any of you think the prequel ruined it? i personally haven’t read it.

message 16: by May (new)

May (theladymidnight) I honestly enjoyed the prequel! It's different than what we're used to, but I really liked reading about the games in a new perspective and learning more about Snow. You don't have to worry about this story trying to redeem him.

Peeta! Never liked Gale

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) I loved the prequel!!! So, so good!!!! Honestly it’s for a certain audience and if you don’t understand sorta the pints and sort of human... psychology, I guess, then ou’d be confused. The books shows layers to people and I loved it

Human psychology interests me which is why I enjoyed all their discussions about human nature.

This book isn't for everyone, I do understand why some people didn't like it.

I'd love book on Haymitch! I was originally hoping the prequel would be on him

Haymitch is amazing. Hands down, just amazing. Effie got on my nerves a bit.

Yes, totally agree. Haymitch (aside from Katniss) is my favorite character. Then Gale. Then Finnick. Then Prim. Then Buttercup. Then Peeta.
