Yeah Joseph! What a great one to start the year with! I did the sigma series all out of order and I think this was the first I read. Best one of all of them although I recommend the entire series to those who ask. Rollins is one of my favorite authors.

You're right! I was hooked with the first book, "Sandstorm" Rollins is rad! I'm totally going to read the rest from the Sigma series and try his stand alones too.

Review: I like the "The Brotherhood of War" series very much. Now that I've read the second book in the series I'm hooked!. This book takes our charecters into the Korean war and how their Military carrers advance or slip. I love how the characters are all tied together in some way or another, and that not all of them get along. I'm looking Forward to reading the next book in this series.

I am envious of how you have started your year with these two authors(Griffin & Rollins). I see close similarities between our reading interests and wouldn't be suprised if you posted next about Bernard Cornwell or maybe Raymond Khoury.

Thanks for the compliment Jesse. Most of thefiction I read I read at work when I have second shift or night shift(my shifts Change every week). I have a couple huge wishlists on Amazon mostly taken from listopia lists here on goodreads such as: "The Best Spy Novels","Tresure Hunting Thrillers"and a "Military Fiction" List that I made and also I have another list with the recommendations that I get from the books that I'm reading. All I do is rotate through These lists.
All the authors you mentioned above I like a lot. we do have the same taste in books i think. Since you mentioned Benard Cornwell I do wish that I started the Year off With Richard Sharpe, but he's in those lists somewhere and it won't be Long.
Right now I'm Reading, Nimitz Class by Patrick Robinson. My next fiction book is going to be "Moonraker" by Ian Fleming(Que the James Bond Music).

Review: Let me see here this book's got an aircraft carrier and Support ships in a battle Group, a stolen Russian submarine, the U.S. Navy, the Royal Navy, shoot it's even got the Iranian Navy. there's a lot of Detail decribing operations of a carrier battle Group and also submarine ops. I liked the Story. It was a Little over the top but hey it's fiction it's supposed to be over the top.

Rewiew: I now think I like the Bond books better than the movies. The build up is so cool the slow pace of the book is always a good Change from the fast-pace techno-Thrillers of today.
This boo has got the White Cliffs of Dover, a gentleman's Club for wealthy People witch includes a great gambling Scene,a beautiful Girl(of course), and an atomic rocket. Last but not least It's got Bond...James Bond.

You are a real mystery buff - great progress

Review: Sigma Force is back again! This time they shoot it out in places like: Norway, England, Mali, and France. It's got a lot of Action and I do like the Comic-relief.

P.S. I Know this is the History Book Club and I've only been throwing fiction up here. I just want everyone to know that I am also reading Shelby Foote's first volume of the Civil War and one of These days I'm going to finish it. It's pretty Long and since 99.9% of the history books I read are paper books, I can't take it to work with me. The book is very good so far.

Yes, that is a good one. You have all of the parts for the second citation just make sure to include the word by and spacing. Then it will be pitch perfect and glad to see that you are reading some non fiction too.

Review: This book is pretty much a set-up for the next books in the series. It still was a great read. Since it is a time in between wars(The Korean and the Vietnam)there is not much Action, but I think this book sets the stage for the coming war. This was a great read along with the rest of the series so far.

I like W.E.B. Griffin although I usually listen to his audiobooks on trips. I don't think I've actually ever "read" any of his books. :)

Review: The plot was pretty good in this Story which has to do with tensions between North and South Korea. My Problem with the Story was that to me the characters seemed like 2 dimensional cut-outs. I'm still going to read more in the series in the hope that the characters will fill out more. One last Thing is that I bought this book on my Kindle and there were a lot of typos.

Review: This was the first book that I've read that the main character was an Israeli Mossad Agent. The storyline was good(could have been better). I also thought the characters were described very good.

Review: I'm sure this was a good book for some People but for me it was a Little boring. what I liked was the Scene description. I've never been to Maine or New England for that matter. One of These days I'll make it out there and when I do I'll think of this Story. I just wished it was a Little better.

Review: The latest in the "Brotherhood of War" series. Thee men are Setting up the Air Cavalary and the Special Warfare School(the Green Berets). All the characters are back through their ups and downs. The Vietnam war is on the horizon. The ending could have been better that's why the minus.

Review: This was the first book I've read from this author. I thought it was a good sea Story. It was like watching an old 1960s war movie. I think since this was pretty much a sea Story the book reads slow, maybe too slow for some People. I liked it though.

Review: Bond goes to the states and tackles the mob and almost gets takled himself. This Story has got Diamonds, Las Vegas, and even an old steam locomotive. Compared to the other Bond books I've read(and I'm readeing them in order) this one felt a Little more "campy" that's why the "-".

Review: This is my first of James Rollins' stand alone novels. I liked the Story and was sucked in to the Amazon Rain Forest(or James Rollins' Amazon). This Story has human limbs growing back, an outbreak that starts in the U.S. and spreads like wildfire, man-eating caimans, chimeras, lost Indian tribes and a lot of Action.

Review: This book has more to do with the U.S. Army Special Warfare School and those Group of characters. Since the Army is one big Family everyone gets a mention. Someone gets killed and a couple new characters det more developed. I love this series so far.

Review: This was the first in a series of American Civil War novels from Cornwell. The set up of the characters and the build up to war took up more than half of the book, but when the war came it was pretty exciting reading. I think my Problem was that I've read too many Richard Sharpe novels.
