Book Synopsis:
A small Georgia town erupts in panic when a young college professor is found brutally mutilated in the local diner. But it's only when town pediatrician and coroner Sara Linton does the autopsy that the full extent of the killer's twisted work becomes clear.

Sara's ex-husband, police chief Jeffrey Tolliver, leads the investigation -- a trail of terror that grows increasingly macabre when another local woman is found crucified a few days later. But he's got more than a sadistic serial killer on his hands, for the county's sole female detective, Lena Adams -- the first victim's sister -- want to serve her own justice.

But it is Sara who holds the key to finding the killer. A secret from her past could unmask the brilliantly malevolent psychopath... or mean her death.

Emma (M) | 1777 comments I am looking forward to this one, it will be my first Karina Slaughter book.

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 4205 comments Me, too, Emma! It looks like a nail biter. I haven't read a really good suspense novel in awhile, so I'm excited about this one.

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Great to have you along Kristin. I hope I love her books as much as you do. I really want to find a good series that has multiple books in it.

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Ooh, I like reading a book series before it gets made into a TV series.

Marla | 1807 comments I LOVE this series. It's shockingly good! I'm reading Indelible later this month. Have fun!

Emma (M) | 1777 comments I managed to fit the first couple of chapters in today during my lunch break at work. I think its already got me hooked.

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 4205 comments Oh, that's encouraging, Emma! I'm about to start now! Yay!

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 4205 comments I'm up to Chapter 11. So far the investigation is intense. (view spoiler)

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 4205 comments Finished! The material was a lot darker than what I'm used to, but I thought the plot was solid and the writing was fantastic. It was realistic enough to give me chills in places. The author obviously did a lot of medical research to make this work. The police procedures were top notch as well.

(view spoiler)

I'm eager to know what everyone else thinks! I couldn't put it down!

Emma (M) | 1777 comments I should be able to get through some more of it today. I've enjoyed it so far but am only a few chapters in.

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 4205 comments I'll have notifications on as long as their are people reading. It really went fast for me, but then again I'm recovering from knee surgery and have a lot of down time. It's not like I'm scrubbing floors or anything at the moment.

I have just finished chapter 11 myself. (view spoiler).
So far I am really enjoying the book. I really like Jeffrey, he seems like a good police officer. I can't say I have warmed to Lena much at this stage, her grief is creating too much anger which is making it difficult to connect with her, but she does seem like a pretty savvy detective.

finished!
Yeah, this was a great first novel for the series, I definitely want to read more. (view spoiler)

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 4205 comments Great point! I felt the same way and would keep going just to see how Sara and Jeffrey are getting along in there relationship. (view spoiler)

I'll probably read the next book in February. There is another lady on my Tower Team that might read it, too. Are you interested in another BR?

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Yep I would definitely be interested in a BR for #2, especially in Feb, I am a bit overbooked for Jan at the moment :)

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 4205 comments Great! Do you want to pick a date in February? The first is a busy time, but anytime after the 5th is fine. Let me know what works for you and I'll ask the mods to set us up.

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Can we make it about the 8th?

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 4205 comments Yep! I'll request a thread from the mods. If you need a few extra days when it's time to start, just let me know. I'm pretty flexible and don't plan to sign up for anymore challenges in February.

I'm looking forward to it!

Emma (M) | 1777 comments I'm looking forward to it too :). See you on the 8th

Audrey Jane | 1832 comments I've read Blindsighted and Kisscut during Tower Teams. I'm really loving this series, and I agree it can be quite brutal & gruesome. I recommend it bit it's not for the faint of heart.

Becky and Emma, I agree about Jeffrey and Sara. (view spoiler)

About Lena: (view spoiler)

I see you have requested a BR for Kisscut. If you plan to continue with the series I would like to join you for A Faint Cold Fear :)

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 4205 comments Hi Audrey Jane!

Love you're spoilers. I agree and really was impressed by the author.

About Hank: (view spoiler)

If book 2 goes well, I'd be open to a series read! I hope you'll pop in as we read Kisscut!
