Looking back on 2014, I can't help thinking about some of the great books I read during the year. Some were surprising (Tina Whittle). Some were delicious comfort food (JK Kennedy). Some were exactly what I wanted and expected them to be (Lee Child).

So. I'm curious. What about the rest of you? What was the best book (or at least top three) that you read last year? Weigh in and let us know.

I wish I had a better memory of what I read in 2014, but off the top of my head: Agatha Christie's "Murder at the Vicarage," the first Miss Marple story; Paul Johnson's mini-biography of Winston Churchill; Rex Stout's "Murder by the Book," which continues my newfound love of Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin.

I'm sure I must have read something published (or set) in this century, but can't recall it at the moment!
