First time reading a Nicholas Sparks book....let's see how this romance is!

I read this one and I really enjoyed it. Then I read Safe Haven, and it was ok. These books were so similar that basically the character names and setting changed, but the plot remained the same. I think if I had read Safe Haven first and then read The Lucky One next, the review would be reversed. These books serve their purpose, but I don't want to read the same basic story over and over again.
