Hi, I'm new to the group & this is my first post here. Just wanted to say that while I'm not a huge fan of The Shadow (I've only read about 3 or 4 of the novels, a few of the comics and listened to maybe a half dozen or so of the old radio shows), I am a huge of Doc Savage (I have read all the original 182 books by Lester Dent & company writing as Kenneth Robeson). I just started getting back into the new adventures by Will Murray and I am really looking forward to both The Sinister Shadow and Skull Island (which features King Kong). I've got a stack of The Shadow books to get to eventually. But I decided to finish The Whisperer & The Spider before I continue with The Shadow.
Hi Rick! Welcome to the group! I really should read these books; they sound like fun. Is The Shadow the same one that my mother used to talk about, I wonder? Something like 'Who knows what will happen next....The Shadow knows'?

Yes, that's the same Shadow. Who knows what evil lurks on the hearts of men? The Shadow knows. ;)
Oh, that's right! '...what evil lurks!...' Sounds much better than what I was remembering, doesn't it. Shows you how closely I used to listen to my Mother....LOL.
Mom's 87....I bet she listened to all the original broadcasts. And of course now I am even more tempted to hear them myself. I should at least find a few of the books!
Sanctum books is currently reprinting them in two-for-one format. They just finished reprinting editions of all 182 Doc Savage books in the same format. They are also reprinting Nick Carter, Black Bat, Cap Fury, Phantom Detective & The Spider as well. They've also recently completed reprints of the entire runs of The Whisperer (which I'm about halfway through & rather disappointed with) and The Avenger (which were better this. I'd remembered them being, at least the 3 that I had previously read were). Http://www.shadowsanctum.com/pulps.html
