The three girls walked up to the imposing marble building. "Are you two ready for the ride?" Ever grinned. "I actually love riding the cart."
"Yes!" Marigold said. "I love it, too."
"It's like a Muggle roller coaster, honestly," Ever said. "At least, I think. I've never been on one."
Ainsley leapt with excitement. "I wonder if they have a statue or something to honor Harry Potter, Hermione, and Ron the day they rode the dragon out of the bank with the horcrux," she said curiously.
"I've been on a few." Marigold inhaled. "The cart here is slightly less fun, but yeah, similar."
"They probably don't," Ever said, laughing slightly. "The goblins wouldn't let their bank be a memorial to a wizard's achievements."
"No," Marigold shook her head. "They aren't too fond of us."
"Well, let's go," Ever said, walking up the marble steps.
Ainsley laughed along. "That is true. I wonder if the goblin I had last time actually cut his finger nails," she murmured.
Marigold nodded. She heard their footsteps echo through the bank.
Marigold stepped onto the cart and sat down. "Muggle roller coasters have more comfortable seats, as well," she whispered.
Ainsley who had been on plenty of roller coasters groaned as the cart squeaked as it began to move.
The goblin in the cart grunted and the cart lurched forward. Marigold tightened her grip on her backpack.
"But they're not enchanted," Ever whispered back with a grin.
Marigold giggled. The cart slowed down to a stop. "Welp, this is where my money is." Marigold hopped off the cart and waited for the goblin to unlock it.
Ainsley kept on moving around in her seat trying to find a comfortable spot to sit, but ended up getting a dirty look from a goblin.
"Just settle down in a semi-comfortable position that you're unlikely to fall out of," Ever muttered to her, "We'll be out pretty soon." She was doing her best not to fidget.
Marigold grabbed a pouch filled with coins and plopped back down in her seat. "Ow!" she exclaimed. The goblin chuckled. Marigold glared at him.
Ainsley took her advice, but the seat was still hard.
"Remind me to bring a pillow next time we come here," Ainsley said.
"Remind me to bring a pillow next time we come here," Ainsley said.
"Yep," Marigold rubbed her tailbone. "but only if you remind me, too."
"Ainsley," Ever muttered, trying to still her. "Settle down, please." She motioned at the goblin, who was watching them with disdain.
The goblin shook his large head. "You know," he said with a grimy voice. "several decades ago we didn't even have seats."
Marigold squinted at the goblin, trying her best not to get into an argument.
The cart stopped again and Ainsley leap gratefully to her feet. She waited for the goblin to unlock the door (It's a door, right?) She stepped inside and took out her satchel. She scooped up some coins and put them inside a pocket in the satchel. She turned back to the cart and groaned again as she sat back down.
"So, we just had to stand and try not to fall out?" Ever asked.
"You know what? Standing would actually be nice. Just hold on to the bar," Ainsley said. She stood up and grabbed onto the bar tightly.
(i think so?)
The goblin grunted again. "You were lucky if you didn't break a bone!" The goblin laughed, like he was reliving some happy memories.
The goblin grunted again. "You were lucky if you didn't break a bone!" The goblin laughed, like he was reliving some happy memories.
"That's...not my definition of fun," Ever said. "It does sound interesting, though. I've never really learned much about the history of Gringotts."
Ainsley's eyes widened. She quickly sat back down and stared wearily at the goblin. "Lord, we'll be lucky if he doesn't purposely crash this thing," she whispered to Ever and Marigold.
"He wouldn't," Ever whispered back. "It would mean dealing with the Ministry and the Goblin Liaison Office, and goblins hate doing that." She still gripped the bar a bit tighter.
The goblin overheard Ainsley and laughed. "You think I'm bad? You're lucky you didn't get Fine. He wouldn't put up with you."
Marigold shivered. She didn't like Gringotts much right now.
Marigold shivered. She didn't like Gringotts much right now.
Marigold sighed. She didn't want to stay at Gringotts for much longer.
Ever got out and waited for the goblin to unlock her vault. "Thank you," she said when he did. She filled her pouch with as much gold as she could, then sat back down in the cart. "I wish there were Wizarding part-time jobs," she sighed. "I'm Muggle-born and have no source of Wizarding income."
(VAULT!!! Ohhhhh.)
The cart turned back and the girls practically ran out of Gringotts.
(Where to next?)

(Where to next?)
"I heard Madam Malkin's is hiring," Marigold chirped. "But you can always borrow some money from me."
(how about Florean Fortescue's?)
(i actually have to go but i'll be back later! bye)
