Okay opinions on grace 😤

i hate grace, but who knows what will happen to her in the next books

also the cover reveal for chain of iron is coming july 1st!! i can't wait!!

I think the covers (mainly from TDA and TLH) are GORGEOUS !

Grace is bllleeeuuuurrrhhgg. But I don't know. Without Tatianas influence maybe she'll be better? And maybe she and Lucy will become friends and that way she will be gooder?

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE NEW COOVVVEEERRR, if it's at the same level as Chain of Gold and TDA I'll die of happiness!!!

unpopular opinion but i lowkey love Grace
I just find her soooo interesting and my heart breaks for her bc she is threatened with death like daily and her mom is abusive
all she wants is to be free and she can't have that
also i ship her with Christopher already
if u don't know this about me, I am the biggest sucker for romance and redemption arcs
They would have such a cute romance bc of Kit, and that's a fact
Grace needs to make up for her actions, yes, but i still love her
on another hand, who else agrees Tatiana can burn in hell??!!

also I think Lucie will be on the cover surrounded by ghosts in a forest maybe?

If you guys read ghost of the shadowhunter market you know why he’s a drunk at such a young age. Plus his love for Cordelia was wild ! I’ve always been a shipper of Lucie and Matthew.

Matthew my looooove, he deserves HAPPINESS and to don't feel guilty anymore! A happy ending!

I love Matthew but I’m still very bitter about him making Alastair cry at the end

Also I don’t ship Matthew and Cordelia at all. Hardcore Jordelia shipper.
Matthew needs to get sober before ANYTHING else bc my boy needs happiness and he can’t get that while drunk and thinking he’s an awful person. He needs to realize that it wasn’t his fault, it was the faerie who sold him poison and knew it:)

Can we please talk about that twist between James and Cordelia? Grace is a ------ (something I will not say). What did she slip on James to make him forget his feelings for Cordelia? I know they are getting married but he has forgotten his feelings for her. UGHHHHH

Omg my baby Cordelia she risked EVERYTHING for James. I hated when she asked if James loved her and he was like... no but we can get married... it made me so sad !
Then that (mean word) grace! She was really at the party to celebrate James and cordelias engagement and asked him to get back with her after the divorce. I damn near slapped her through the book.

I mean james is under a spell and he was bullied bc of his eyes
cordelia thinks james doesn't love her, and has to hid her feelings
grace literally has only ever been loved by her brother and he died, plus she is getting death threats among other things plus she has an awful mother

immediately after i finished cog i had the urge to re-read (i successfully resisted that urge, i just have to many books on my tbr) and to read th sequel, but bc i couldn't i literally got a notebook and started writing all my thoughts in it and my theories (something i've never done..), i think i wrote at least 5 pages of thoughts and 3 of theories (and i have really small handwriting) ...

omg I have soooo many theories too!!! and yes, I have an urge to re-read it all the time, probably will soon lol (I say that a lot)

i have a theory about the bracelent james wears. what if that bracelet actually binds grace and james together in some way. it literally says on it loyalty binds me.. we still don't really understand what this bracelet does (only that if james wears it, he doesn't realise he has feelings for cordelia)

another theory of mine is about how jesse is going to come back. lucie has the power to command the death, right? well what if lucie commands jesse to come back to life, like of course there will be other things happening that will help to come to this outcome, but what if lucie ultimately does that?? we keep being reminded that jesse is not like other ghosts...

hmmm yeah. from what I've seen on cassie's tumblr, the bracelet acts as a way for grace to use her powers on James as, for some reason (my guess is his demon blood) her powers don't work on him without the bracelet. grace was not born with her powers, they were given (my theory is Tatiana traded her memories of her parents for the powers. after all, grace has no memories of them but they died when she was 8. so she should have some recollections, unless an evil mother gave them up...). The bracelet also has other powers we haven't seen, I believe, and James has powers we haven't seen either. so yeah I feel it has way more evil stuff. also, Belial has an anchor to the mortal realm, that's why Cortana wasn't able to wound him that severely as everyone believed. I think the bracelet is the anchor and will put James in danger

Okay I agree with that. Okay so James says that Herondales only love once and in a way that’s true. When Grace first met James he would talk to her about Cordelia because that was back when Cordelia nursed him back to health and read to him. And graces says “it’s okay I know you love her” and that very day she asks hands to steal her bracelet back from her mom. I think she realized James would never truly love her so she went to plan B which was the bracelet. That’s why when the bracelet was removed James quickly rediscovered his feelings for Cordelia. They had been there all along but the bracelet binds him to Grace. Plus Grace has some sort of siren power. She told Matthew to kiss her and he couldn’t do anything against it. I think that’s how she got Charles. Because grace has no connections and Charles wanted to marry a connected woman the only way he would leave Aridane was if he was compelled too.

yes! the thing is Cassie has said Grace removed the bracelet bc she wanted to free James, she only out it back on bc as we see when Lucie sees her with Jesse's coffin, the demon said she would be killed if she didn't. and Cassie said grace has used her powers on other ppl. I hope that James can fight the gracelet's power or cordelia chops it off with cortana. and I feel bad for Charles bc even tho he is annoying and not the best person he doesn't deserve getting spelled:(

i understand why you feel bad for charles, but sadly i can't forgive him for the way he behaved towards alastair (alastair also had his faults, yes, but in my eyes he redeemed himself)

yyes, I love alastair and i agree but i am a sucker for redemption arcs soo

Alastair is just... he is presented not to be very nice but in the end no matter his faults he was just looking out for Cordelia

Okay so I think my favorite character of all is Emma carstairs and now that I met Cordelia I love her too but THEY BRANCH OUT FROM THE SAME FAMILY TREE! I don’t know why this makes me so happy but it does !

Only in the shadowhunter fandom can a family tree make things more complicated and confusing

it has to be the unborn child. alastair is only interested in men and cordelia will continue the herondale line

also i think i read somewhere that in this series there will be a surprise baby that will need to be adopted (but don't take my word for it, i'm not really sure if i remember correctly...)
