Michelle Finazzo | 281 comments I finished The Last Wish and am so glad that I did. I still have a couple of episodes remaining in the Netflix series, but the book does a much better job of describing Geralt's history, motivations, and personality. The character in the TV series is a bit one dimensional and not that interesting. The stories in the book still have wonderfully intense fight scenes and provide a richer, fuller description of secondary characters and events. My only complaint, be it ever so small, is that Yennefer's character is not quite as flushed out in the stories compiled for this book. I imagine I'll have to read other books in order to get to know her on a deeper level, but I'm definitely not opposed to investing more time in reading about the Witcher.

I finished Bag of Bones and finally arrived at some of my favorite parts of the book. The supernatural/horror factor finally amped up to an acceptable level and there were some unpredictable events. Some of these events were odd and felt misplaced, like a drive-by shooting, but others like the Rogette reveal were pretty darn good. I was happy to finally know what happened to Sarah Tidwell and her son, graphic as it was, but I can't say that the last 150 pages fully redeemed my painful slog through the first 600 pages.

Michelle Finazzo | 281 comments I have made it almost half way through Bubblegum and it has been a trippy experience to be sure. Most of the character names are funky fresh, and I really want a Curio of my own. I imagine them to be unquantifiably better than a Furby, but that is the only real life reference I have for comparison. At one point I cried during this section of the book, really cried (no crocodile tears for me), and was very close to a chest-heaving sob festival. I have enjoyed the journey and I am quite excited to continue as there are so many unanswered questions.
