If you're willing to accept "thouSAND" there's also A Thousand Perfect Notes (YA contemporary) and The Cat Who Walked a Thousand Miles (short story, historical fiction from the POV of a cat). (I wouldn't have thought of this but I searched "sand" in my goodreads library and these books popped up)

Lauren Oertel | 764 comments I'm planning to read Here Comes the Sun for this - it's been on my TBR for way too long!

Lilith (lilithp) | 1084 comments Evil Under the Sun is an enjoyable quick mystery - I didn't figure out whodunit, and loved it just the same. You just can't go wrong with Agatha Christie.

Alison | 35 comments I am reading The Wave: In Pursuit of the Rogues, Freaks, and Giants of the Ocean which I didn't even realize I had on my Kindle until I was searching for a title for this prompt! :)

I listened to this on audiobook. Kristin that played Veronica Mars did the whole thing and it was really good.

Lilith (lilithp) | 1084 comments Highly recommend The Sun and Her Flowers! Rupi Kaur is a talented poet and artist, and many of her poems have stayed with me.
