Robert Kroeger | 2 comments I joined Goodreads in December and have made some friends. It’s nice to be among fellow readers and writers. As an overseas member of the famous golf club at Westward Ho!, I give high praise to glorious Devon and can't wait to travel there again.

I’ve written several books on golf in the UK and Eire and have written one on longevity, based on the lifestyle of a friend of mine, Mike Fremont, whom I’ve known since 2007. I’ve learned a lot from him. He set a world marathon (26.2 variety) for his age in 2012, though he’s backed off to half-marathons for now. He’ll be 93 next month. Sharp as a tack.

I realize that it’s not appropriate to do self-promotion but, taking a risk, I’ll mention that fellow lovers of Scotland might like my new book, The Secrets of Islay, which is free on Amazon through January 9. It will raise funds for the students of Islay high school – for their mission trip to a third world country. I’d label the book creative non-fiction and I hope it gets picked up for a movie. Now, if I can just get in touch with Steven Spielberg … (and Sean Connery)

Happy to be in the group.
Bob

Ian Hi Robert. I am afraid that this group is pretty dormant. I joined it last year but there is virtually no activity so I started the Devon Book club (also on Good reads) which has attracted over 100 members in its first 3 months so you might like to join us there. Just search under groups. best wishes ian
