Poetry - at first I thought this was difficult to follow.

But, that all changed when I started thinking of it as poetry.

Definitely a unique use of war and sci-fi to to develop a poetical romance

Finished - haven't written my review yet - thinking about it a bit first.

This was so unique - quite unlike anything I have ever read before. I am not sure I ever completely understood what was happening, but I am not sure it matters.

I've been watching Dark on Netflix, which is also about time travel and manipulating the narrative. This was much like that for me. I don't think understanding every detail is important.

More importantly, did you like it?

I did - I don't think I liked it quite as much as some others. But, it was very beautiful and unique in a good way while at the same time being dark and gritty. Very deserving of any positive accolades.

I absolutely loved this story! I actually felt I was following it fairly well until the very end. I’m a bit confused about that, but I like books that keep me thinking long after I’ve finished.
The flow of this book was so unexpected! I’m kind of glad I didn’t read it as an audiobook. I needed to re-read almost every second sentence.

I definitely did a lot of rewinding!

What a great story! I’m so happy we read this one! Will get to writing a review, but the story was so interesting on two different levels- the characters and their love story, and the concept of the overall world and battle.

I agree. This little book had something to offer almost every genre lover.

I was wondering how many of us like science fiction and romance in general. I say I don't like romance, but LOVE science fiction, but I am often proven a liar when a romance is presented in a new way. Like this one.

What about everyone else?

I don't mind romance in a book - and, as I think I mentioned elsewhere, this book did not strike me as what I would think of stereotypical romance novels. So, in that aspect the romance was just fine.

I like sci-fi, but it starts to get iffy when it gets into the really mind bending sci-fi - which is definitely got here. I just rolled with the sci-fi elements instead of trying to figure them all out.

One interesting thing I noticed, many people mention this book being LGBT. But, and I don't know how to explain it, it didn't feel like that to me. I know the two main characters were female and they were in love, but I guess I have this feel for LGBT literature (like Carry On and Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda) that I just didn't feel here. It was just two people in a complicated love battle and gender really didn't cross my mind very much.

I agree! Because this takes place in the future, it felt as if the gender issue was actually a non-issue. A bit like Every Day (kind of) or a space opera where the aliens have no gender, thus making it a non-issue. I know I've read books like that, but I need to look through my books to give an example.
