Not sure about Russia, but in the USA you cannot sue vaccine makers. They are immune to prosecution thanks to a little known 1986 federal act protecting vaccine producers from liability. Same is true in many European nations I seem to recall.
When childrens' and adults' lives are at stake, being (financially) free of all safety concerns is charming stuff, dontcha think? Bloody good for business tho...

Ian, what you say won't ever happen is already happening globally and has been for some time i.e. in many nations, the unvaccinated (especially parents of kids) already incur tax penalties, have to pay higher insurance premiums, and are denied numerous government services (such as childcare benefits) normally granted to low income households.
For example, in many nations (and here in Australia too) parents with unvaccinated children get taxed higher and have continuous reductions in their family benefit and/or family unemployment benefit IF they continue to refuse to vaccinate.
Here in Australia, this notorious law has been nicknamed the "No jab, No Pay" policy. Most other Western nations are implementing something similar and many non-Western nations already have mandatory vaccines by law (meaning you either get vaccinated or go to jail).

Who knows if U.S will try to make it Mandatory, not under Trump that is for sure. However,, I would refuse on the basis that that the "powers that be" would have to PROVE THAT I ALREADY HAVEN'T had it and for them to do that I would have had to agree to be tested which I will not,, and even then ALL CLINICAL TRIALS must have what is called INFORMED CONSENT.. that the patient must understand, read and retain a copy of what was given to them. That is the VERY REASON if you think about it,, that the UNPROVEN and FALSE CLAIMS about the Antibody/Plasma is so called not holding up past three months,, which is also.. LET'S SEE THE DATA. Yeah FDA and scientists know that scientist (like me) know that the first thing I would say is PROVE I HAVEN'T already had it.. which is why the mass testing for PRE COVID is important, but I wouldn't do that either unless I was sick.. those tests have tons of false positives because the nature of the CoronaVirus.. and also the company which manufactures the test kits. There are only a couple which can be trusted as far as I am concerned.

The other way of looking at it is whether there are major problems with other vaccines? The real questions are is this one to be rushed through too quickly, will it work, and what are the alternatives?

As someone who works in the public schools but has an extraordinarily hardy immune system (I haven’t been sick, even with a cold, in more than a year, and I do not get the annual flu vaccine [knock on wood]), I am hesitant to be vaccinated immediately upon its release but worry I will be forced to do so. I am a believer in children’s vaccinations and am not a conspiracy theorist, but I am also a pragmatist when it comes to scientific discoveries: we need to vet the vaccine first. I am not a guinea pig.

It is very common for (at least) 1 in 50,000 vaccine trialists to fall ill after being vaccinated and often it is not an illness associated with the vaccine. Even so, I remain nervous...
Lance, I would not be nervous until faced with the vaccine. Then, as things stand, yes I would be nervous too, but hopefully more information will turn up. If not, I walk and hope to avoid the virus.

They have that nicely covered with immunity from being sued for damage caused by their vaccines.

I know this is hard for some here to agree to, but the virus is deadly to the aged, and who is not planning to get old? You are entitled to your opinion that the virus will not hurt you, but others are equally entitled to view the statistics, and either the virus is eliminated or vaccines are available, or everyone will get it sooner or later, and like other cornaviruses, probably more than once. Vaccine makers can think ahead, as opposed to some others who cannot see beyond their personal wants today. Self-preservation is to give yourself an out as you age.
By the time I am aged the vaccine will be properly tested and found to be either safe or unsafe.
The scientists, mainstream medical and health professionals, and our leaders bless them, seem to overlook the indisputable fact that we, or most of us at least, have been blessed with a remarkably efficient natural immune system. A system which has stood us in good stead down through the ages and which until the 20th Century enabled us to survive without the aid of prescription drugs. Which is why I for one won't be queuing for the miracle vaccine we are assured is coming our way soon. (Before the presidential election if someone has His way). If my immune system was compromised I guess I'd have a different viewpoint...
