Amanda Artist Cat (amandawholovesbooks) Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Six of Crows... There are so many wonderful fantasy books - but what makes them soooo good?

The fantasy should not always be about wizards, werewolves and all already created worlds.

the magic system/world-building has to be done well
the characters (I have a thing for characterization)
the plot and writing, because that's what makes people want to read it.

Amanda Artist Cat (amandawholovesbooks) I think what makes a fantasy great is that if it reflects a certain aspect of real life. Something I could relate to deeply, something that makes you say "Oh, yes, I get that too!"
Whether it's a world that mirrors ours or a way of explaining it in a magical way, as long as it's well-written and well-portrayed, I'll give it 5 stars!
