Our featured book club pick for October 2020 is The Last Voyage of Poe Blythe by Ally Condie.

Condie is the author of many highly-anticipated reads, including the Matched series, a dystopian trilogy, and the standalone novel Atlantia.

Have you already read books by this author? What are your thoughts on dystopia novels? Are you excited for this book?

Kristen | 166 comments I vaguely remember reading the first Matched book, and maybe the second, but I don't think I particularly liked them. I haven't read Atlantia at all, though I think I put it on my TBR.

I'm a little mixed in my excitement about this book. The synopsis is very short and vague, so I'm not sure what to expect from it. I hope it portrays a true anti-heroine, and isn't one that's all about fluffy love. Give me something dark and thoughtful!! ;)

Christine | 142 comments I read Matched several years ago. I enjoyed it, but did not continue on with the series. Honestly, the premise of the book does not appeal to me. It sounds like a western set set on a pirate ship. I have not read a lot of westerns, but disliked reading Under a Painted Sky when it was a book club pick.

It does kind of sound like a western, but be at ease; it's definitely not.
