The twins come to accept him rather quickly as a father figure in their lives, even though he killed their parents and took them from their home. Whereas Vivi vows to hate him forever. Does the fact that he takes care to make sure that they are not harmed and receive the same education as fey children necessarily make him a good father?

Britt Whitfield (bwhitfield) | 11 comments I hate him. I think taking in Jude and Taryn is all a charade to show off his standing and "honor". At times it could almost see some sort of love but most of the time the girls almost felt like trophies of one of his kills.

Jeslyn Nycole (bayoubookworm) | 5 comments Madoc reminds me of Thanos as a father. Children bond to whomever they can when their parents are gone. They probably didn’t understand their deaths when it happened and bonded with the closest parental figures. Vivi on the other hand was old enough to understand immediately what her father had done. The girls also have to focus on surviving in this environment, so they’re forced to accept whatever protection they receive. Vivi flourishes in this land though so she can afford to rebel. Madoc loves them in his own way, but it’s nothing like a fatherly love. He can sacrifice them for his own gains, but he’ll support them until it’s difficult for him.
