Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel—The Vipers.

They run this town and everyone in it. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses.

Yes, sold me.

They own me now.

I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant. These men, they look at me with longing. Their scarred, blood-stained hands holding me tight. They want everything I am, everything I have to give, and won’t stop until they get just that. They can own my body, but they will never have my heart.

The Vipers? I’m going to make them regret the day they took me.

It’s like she wandered in from another book and just stayed there, while the real MC ended up lost and is happily living in some other bully romance.

It also felt like it was all sex with some action thrown in here and there.

I'm not sure who all was going to do this but I would totally love to join up. I've been seeing this on my KU recommended feed for a while and didn't realize its by K.A. Knight whom I totally love.

I'll be jumping in to this one too Tiera, probably next week at some time, so many books so little time lol... This will be my first from this author even though I have a few of her books in my TBR, looking forward to it.

1% Just started and am already enjoying this. Something about psychopathic characters does it for me "It's been a whole two days since I got to kill someone, and I'm getting restless."

18%(view spoiler)[So I'm really enjoying this so far. I wish the heroine was more on the crazy dark side, so over just the men being the ones off their rocker lol. I was glad she was able to handle Diesel losing it on that guy, she's made of tough stuff and even participated herself a little. Honestly what's pissing me off now is how annoying her lusting after them is. It's become so cliche in books that the heroine is just a walking talking bundle of sexual tension, easily exploited by the guys and quick to be blindsided by her body. Ughhhh why?!?!?!? 25%(view spoiler)[Is it wrong that I'm totally crushing on Diesel. He's so insane I can't help it. It's clear his past helped shape him and pain is all he knows-something the heroine also understands. But it's not like the heroine doesn't also get off on a little pain and blood herself lol so they are really a match. I wish she'd be able to get a few more licks in with them like the first bunch of guys they sent to her. I'd like her more crazy and dangerous side to come out rather than just drooling over them non-stop whenever they have their shirt off. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[WEll hell I'm in Love. I really loved this book. I'm glad it pushed limits and went fully in unlike some books which label themselves as dark when they really aren't. Living a mob style life is messy and only certain types of people can truly make it in that life. I was worried Rox was going to be disappointing and lame but damn if seh didn't overnight sometime turn into the woman she was always meant to be and I was sooooo here for it! And GoD I really love Diesel. (hide spoiler)]

I loved her taking on all those guys herself too. In fact I was a little disappointed it wasn't her men but just grunts they sent to collect her. I mean what a way to make an impression lmao

I think it was more supposed to be about them and how well they git together than anything but I loved it so maybe I'm biased lol (hide spoiler)]

One minute she hates them and is destroying their belongings trying to escape and the next shes lusting after them and taking on bad guys like she was made for it. I think thats the dynamic I most enjoyed. Her meeting up with them actually allowed her to live as her true batshit crazy self. :P (hide spoiler)]

That is a really good point though on her suddenly essentially giving up on her whole ‘independent’ life. It’s weird because it’s like at some point she just forgot she even owned a bar, a bar that was her life. Then again I’d argue she loved her Bat evn more than the bar (hide spoiler)]

I hate when technology tries to screw us lol. No rush though I just finished so my brain is still stuck on the book and Diesel. 😍😍 We seem to enjoy the same darkish type reads so I’m just curious your thoughts on it!!

Also, I was kind of under the impression this was like an apocalyptic type world.. but I'm still not sure.. the parameters weren't all that clearly set for the actual world build part of the story.. I mean how are all these people getting away with all this stuff! K.A. always makes me love the crazies though for sure. I think I enjoy her paranormal stuff a little more though.. crazily enough I feel like when I know something is paranormal/fantasy all this dark romance and smut seems more believable despite it all being fiction lol. Yes K.A. Knight, in everything of hers I have read has that underlying humor threaded throughout all her dark stuff. It gets me every time and for me breaks up any.. uncomfortable.. moments for some reason. I have no triggers though but I can definitely say that this would be too dark for some.
