Hello, librarians -- I need your help!

I recently decided it was well past time to create my Goodeads author profile, but it turns out many of my books have already been attributed/linked to a different Tim Cox. In fact, newly created books automatically link to his author profile, so I can't even join the author program!

The other Tim is a writer of political treatises according to his profile: Tim Cox

I write tabletop roleplaying games and related fiction. I see 19 books incorrectly attributed to the other Tim:

The Worlds of Android
The Investigators of Arkham Horror

I have moved several works to a different author profile. If any of these remaining are yours, please advise.

1. You can claim this by going to the author profile page here:

scroll down and click on the link that says is this you?

2. There is already an author with the same name.

3. Goodreads disambiguates between authors of the same name by using spaces between the author's first and last name.

4. This author profile has 2 spaces: Tim^^Cox, where the ^ equals a space.

5. When publications are automatically imported from Amazon or other sources, the "handshake' between Goodreads and the other source do not recognize multiple spaces, so the work goes to the default 1 space profile.

6. You can post in this forum to have it moved, or you can add the book with the 2 spaces between your first and last name before publication. When you ask for assistance, it is helpful to include that your author profile has 2 spaces.

Thank you so much, Suzi! I have claimed my author profile, so am now waiting on Goodreads to approve that. I understand what you're saying about the two spaces distinction, and will try to preempt that in the future.

I have moved those two books to your forthcoming profile. Can you:

1) provide the correct ISBN for Rise of the Separatists?
2) clarify what "developer" means on these volumes? (One of them says "design", which we do not list on book records.)

Hi, Scott! Sorry for the slow response here.

The ISBN for Rise of the Separatists is 978 1 63344 343 3

The "developer" role is a combination producer/project manager, rules designer, editor, layout, and writer. The "design" role means their work was primarily/exclusively rules design, which could probably be listed as developer or writer.

Thanks for the ISBN. Turns out this is a duplicate record; I will request a merge in the thread devoted to such issues.
