“Kitty Jones!” the escort said.
Kitty sighed and walked towards the stage. Nobody volunteered. She sighed again. Then she waited for the boy tribute to be reaped.

“Victor Johnson!” she said next.
What the hell? he thought.
His friend gave him a worried look as he walked towards the stage and stood next to the girl, Kitty.

Victor and Kitty looked at each other. Since they were in the same grade and school, they had seen each other before, but neither one have ever attempted to start a conversation.

Victor remembered that Kitty was top of the school on the subject of technology, and he himself was a close second.

'We might be able to win this game!' He thought to himself.

Then he thought of something he didn't before.

'What if I die?'
