Ok, I read up to the Hitler's Birthday, 1940 chapter. It's decent so far, but the way it's told is kind of wierd. its a very different third person pov. Is Liesel a Jew? Is that why that section about what might have been done to her mother was added? This book has disappointed me both times because it's titled the book Thief, but shes really only stolen two books, but I am liking it better this time
I read up to the chapter titled the Sleeper, so around another hundred pages. This is just ok, I can see why I dnf'ed it last time. It feels like the action might finally start picking up now that they're helping the Jew, but two hundred pages of nothingness is a bit much. I also really struggle to connect with the characters or understand events due to the way this is written
What do you think so far?
Sorry, I'm not motivated to finish this at all. I'm behind in my scheduled reads, so I don't think I'm going to end up finishing this one
