Chain of Gold is the first novel in a new trilogy that stars the Shadowhunters of Edwardian London.

Starting the audiobook today. I was going to try and do these series in the suggested order but getting the books is hard haha. So here we go!

The small references to Tess, Will and the clockwork war make me smile and remind me how much I loved that trilogy. I can't believe there's already a love triangle; how very Herondale of James haha. 100% I loved this book and I won't hide it!! (view spoiler)[ This new group of characters is so Cassandra Clare but still very unique, fun story with a good balance of demons, new loves, and hints of our favorites from Infernal Devices. I really enjoyed it!! not as much as TDA but that's my #1 fave.

I highly recommend TDA! You see some of the characters from TID in it. And meet one of my fave shadowhunters ever, Emma!

So while I loved all the characters, I was confused as to were the plot was going at times. Definitely interested in the sequel. (hide spoiler)]

I don't think I really minded the vague-ness because I think I felt the plot was vague with TID and TMI as well it seems to be her writing style we don't really know what's going on until the middle or end of the first book in the series

But, I haven't read Lady Midnight so I'll have to get back to you on how much I enjoy that one (hide spoiler)]

Do you feel like sometimes the Shadowhunter novels are a little slow on plot for the first one in a series? Does Lady Midnight start with a strong plot or good plot progression? (hide spoiler)]
