I’m currently reading a wish in the dark. I’m not too impressed so far but I’m only 100 pages in. It’s not really keeping me engaged. I hope it gets better.
Anyone else read/reading this one? What do you think?

Kate | 227 comments I am always looking for books that explore the prison experience. A WISH IN THE DARK is a good addition to the books dealing with the impact of incarceration on society. Although it takes place in a mythical world,it is still very timely.

I have this as one of the best books I’ve read so far in 2020. This is an imaginative, mystical adventure that I loved! The book, at over 375 pages, was very long but it didn’t stop me from finishing it in one day. I was completely invested in all of the characters and so sad when the wise, loving adults were no longer a part of the story (trying not to give anything away). There is enough mystical fantasy to make this exciting for someone who likes that type of book, but also enough realism to be appealing to that reader. Very excited about this book!
