I have an author's page with already 27 books featured on it at Michel Poulin. I have been trying to add a 28th book to my page but keep being refused, probably because someone has lifted an illegal copy of it from another site and posted it as his own on his author's page. That illegal appropriation is already the object of another topic I opened today in this group, but I would really appreciate if a Librarian could help me add NAUCA - DAUGHTER OF THE STEPPES to my author's page. Up to now, I am being blocked by a rather obtuse automated process which is refusing my book adding form and is not giving me access to a human operator.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Michel Poulin

Scott | 11387 comments The book did not need to be added to the database. I have moved the book to your page as per your other posting.

1. The automatic import from other sources, such as Amazon and other publishers do not utilize the Goodreads method of spacing to differentiate authors.

2. All automatic imports go to the "single space" profile by default. This is a systemic function, and no other person is involved. Also, from time to time readers add books that they have read to the Goodreads database, and they have no idea about the Goodreads naming conventions. In neither case is it deliberate or malicious.

3. This is a very common occurrence and Goodreads librarians correct this for authors and other readers numerous times daily.

4. You can prevent this in the future if you add the work when you know the ISBN or ASIN either yourself, or asking a librarian to do for you in this forum.
