Rp only. Nevers only

Laila stalked into the classroom, her black cloak flowing behind her. She tossed her black hair, dark eyes darting around the room. I'm better than all of you, her countenance seemed to say, with a wicked gleam in her eyes and a cold smile on her face.

Ivy walked in the same confidance, knowing her magic skills were better than most of the class. She looked around the classroom for competition, ready to destroy anyone who stood in her way. Pathetic.......loser.........disgrace...........her eyes trailed over her classmates and she dissed each one of them. Her eyes landed on Laila, and narrowed. She looked like she powerful, cunning, and ruthless. Those were words she usually used to describe her self, so this girl was a threat. She walked over, thinking keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. "Hey." she said. "I'm Ivy, daughter of Circe. And you are?"

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Laila examined her slowly, looking Ivy up and down. Interesting. "Laila," she said coldly. "Daughter of Shah Zaman." Your magic won't save you, little girl. Hereditary talent wouldn't help when faced with real skill - though Laila knew never to underestimate someone. Her father had made that mistake.

Ivy picked at her nails, looking bored. "Shah Zaman?" Never heard of him" She kept her tone neutral, but she actually did want to know. She loved to read, but her mom didn't approve, so she had not been able to do tons of it until she got here. So she was still a bit behind on learning all the fairy tales, but she made up for it with all of her magic. She looked up, and hard, cold eyes, met hard, cold eyes.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Laila gave a low laugh. "That's unfortunate for you," she said, smirking. Was that supposed to be an insult? Laila didn't care who her father was - his name didn't make her any more powerful. Others might underestimate her because her father was lesser-known, but that was their mistake. She'd be the best. No one would care about any other villain once her name was made...so it didn't really matter.

Ivy was taken aback, but quickly regained her composure. This girl was dangerous--- a worthy opponent, and Ivy couldn't wait to take her down. "So. What's your special talent? Or do you not have one yet?" Ivy was pretty sure this girl wasn't going to tell her, but, hey, what's the harm in asking?

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Laila just smiled, gesturing to the door where the professor was walking in. "You'll see." Once I use it to take you down. This girl was a first-year, wasn't she? Cocky. This would be fun. You will be a very fun target.

((ima be the teacher now for a minuete))

"Hello, class. I will be your special talents teacher this year. Most of you probably know what your special talent is, but if you don't this class is to help you find it, blah, blah, blah. First things first. If you know what your special talent is, please raise your hand. "*both Ivy and Laila raise their hand, along with about 3/4 of the class.* "okay. Now please go stand over on the left side of the room if you have your hand up, and go to the right side if you don't. *Laila and Ivy go and stand to the left* Now, everyone pair up with someone on your side. We will be doing a tournament. You can use magic, weapons, special talents, fists, whatever. Just don't kill each other."

(also i was thinking they would face each other at the end. They each beat everyone else and so they have to face each other for the win if that's okay with you?)

Laila smiled, facing the boy next to her. This should be fun. She palmed a vial in one hand, drawing it from her sleeve, and a small dagger in the other hand. "Ready?" she purred, seeming to radiate danger.

Ivy turned, and grabbed the sleeve of a the nearest kid. The poor girl wimpered under Ivy's grasp. Ivy said, "Listen up, kid. I'm your partner for this challenge, and I'm going to win" Ivy pulled two long knifes out of their sheaths, and grinned wickedly. The other girl grabbed a knife off the table most were getting their weapons, and held her hands up meakly.

Ivy didn't want to show Leila her special talent yet, so she decided hit this girl head on. Ivy hurtled at the girl with the speed and grace of a cheetah, and punched her in the face. The girl staggered back, and Ivy swept her feet under her as she did so, causing the girl to land on her back. Ivy pounced on her, and held the knife up to her neck.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Laila laughed, lunging and slamming the boy in the head with the hilt of her knife, deadly and silent. He crumpled instantly, and she swept his legs with a graceful kick, knocking him down with a loud thud. She smiled, throwing down the vial of poison, and it exploded at his feet and enveloped him in shimmering mist. His prone form started shimmering, and when the mist cleared, he was left as a rolled-up Arabian rug.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

She didn't hesitate, turning to the next girl on their side. This one was especially stupid, charging Laila with claws extended. Laila rolled her eyes, sidestepping smoothly and grabbing the girl's arm. One of her rings slid off her finger, slithering around the girls' limb in the form of a silver snake, and wrapped around her neck, slamming her into the nearest wall.

Two people charged a Ivy, and she kicked one in the stomach. The boy doubled over, and she kicked him again, and this time he fell down, he hit his head, and went uncounsious. The other boy tried to punch her head, but she ducked, and on his second punch, she grabbed his arm and twisted. The boy yelped, and Ivy dug her nails in tighter. She felt blood under her nails. The she gave the boy a hard uppercut. She let go of his arm, and kicked as hard as she could. He slammed down, and began scrambling away from her. As Ivy looked for her next victim, she caught sight of Laila attacking some girl with these snakes.... snakes that were coming from her. She wondered if they were poisionous. If so, not good. Ivy shook her head, trying to clear it. She needed to focus on her next opponent, not Laila, who would probably face her in the end, by the looks of it. She grabbed a kid from behind, and stuck her knife to their throat. They gave up, and she looked for her next target, only to find that only Laila was left. She cracked her knuckles, ready to win this.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Laila smiled coldly, having beaten the rest of the kids. There was a bit of blood on her knife and a few miscellaneous objects littering the floor around her - students, but they'd been changed. She radiated menace, and pure darkness shone in her eyes.

Ivy smiled back, but didn't move. She waited for Laila to come at her. She saw what had happened with that other girl that had charged.

Laila didn't move, lethally still and silent. Then, faster than lightning, a vial of poison broke at Ivy's feet, releasing a writhing tendril of smoke.

Ivy smiled. Poison smoke? She could do poison smoke. She was glad she hadn't revealed her power. A mist broke out into the class room obscuring all vision and causing coughing fits everywhere. Ivy smiled, unaffected. That was her power. It may seem unimpressive, but it's not. It would make on one be able to see, (except her) and it would slowly poison them. It wouldn't kill them, but it would couse them to be caughing the whole week, and they would probably be broke out in hives the the next few days, too. And the best part? She was unharmed by it all. (She is unharmed by all poison)

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Laila smiled, clearing it with a simple storm spell. "Impressive," she drawled, lightning and thunder shaking the classroom as water and clouds filled the air. Her finger glowed deep, deep violet. "My turn." The shadows in every crevice of the room - of which there were quite a few, since Evil Castle was so dark - gathered around her in a pure black cloud. A vine of blackness struck straight out for Ivy's throat, faster than lightning.

Ivy just ducked, and the bolt shattered against the wall. Then she shot her own lightning bolts at Laila. But hers were different, they wouldn't stop pursueing Laila till they hit her, unless Laila knew how to destory them. And it wasn't an easy spell.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Laila made a whips of darkness, which were almost impenetrable - canceling out the lightning and meeting her blow for blow. A cage of shadows started growing around the two girls, but not affecting Laila. Then, suddenly, it twisted in on itself in a violent implosion, like a set of controlled ribbons writhing straight for Ivy.

Ivy smiled. One of the first things her mom had tought her to do with magic was sheilds. She could hold one up for hours. Ivy quickly cast the spell, but not before sending another blast of her poison fog at Laila. Ivy was now encased in a golden force field,

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

Laila laughed, blasting it away with another quick hurricane. The darkness closed in around Ivy's shield, covering everything from view - as if trying to get in. She knew they wouldn't, because shield spells were so simple, making them easy to hold. But the real purpose of it was to obscure Laila from view. She pulled the hood of her cloak over her head, and vanished. Snakeskin. The only way Ivy would be able to see was if she dropped the shield, which would stop the darkness from pressing in on it. Her bracelet dropped to the ground, landing in the form of a pure-black king cobra. But it wasn't a normal snake.

Ivy stayed in the shield, the darkness probably wouldn't hurt her, because she's invincible to all poisons, but she wasn't taking any chances. And Laila probably wouldn't be able to get in. Her sheilds were VERY strong.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

(the darkness isn't a poison though, it's literally shadows...think Nico-di-Angelo-style black energy)

Laila waited, prowling around the shield. Invisible. The cobra slithered toward the shield, covered by the darkness, and struck at it experimentally. It reared back, showing a mark left on the shield. Basilisk venom - it disintegrated everything it touched.

Ivy broke the shield, and hopped out. She saw a snake on the ground, and her finger lit up with her dark green glow. She shot her light at the snake, and it dissolved. Then she looked around for Laila. She couldn't see her. Ivy grinned. Oh, two could play that game. She ran to the table where all the weapons and supplies were, and grabbed a snakeskin cloak. As it touched her skin, she turned invisible. Then she pulled her dagger out and waited.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Laila smiled, watching the basilisk re-form into her bracelet. She shot a bolt of light straight at Ivy's dagger, knocking it out of her hand, and another two of her rings dropped - smaller basilisks, headed for Ivy. They hissed, darting around with unnervingly quick movements, changing directions so that it was hard to pinpoint one or the other. The darkness swirled around them confusingly, in altering patterns.

message 42: by bookishcarli, Dean of Good (new)

bookishcarli | 96 comments Mod
Ivy cursed, she had forgetten that her dagger wouldn't also be invisible. Ivy had saw the snake reform on Laila's braclet. So she would have to trap the snakes if she wanted to defeat Laila. So, with silent footsteps, Ivy headed over to the weapons table. She was careful not to let Laila know where she was. Ivy used a magic spell her mom had tought her to make an illusion of herself appear behind Laila. The fake her taunted at her while the real Ivy grabbed a cage. It was snakeproof, too. Not any snake in the world can get through it. So while Laila was distracted, trying to grab her fake self, Ivy managed to cage one of the snakes. She looked around for the other one, but couldn't find it.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Laila snorted, blasting through the illusion with a quick spell. My father was fooled by illusions and stories. I will never be, she thought, with a cruel smile. She eyed the cage, moving with deadly silence to another side, and blasted it. It might have been snake proof, but magic was another deal.
Meanwhile, the other basilisk slithered through the darkness, though the constantly shifting shadows made it hard to see. A small dagger slid into Laila's hand, concealed beneath the sleeve of her cloak.

message 44: by bookishcarli, Dean of Good (new)

bookishcarli | 96 comments Mod
Ok. So this wasn't working. Laila wasn't fooled by any of her magic. Ivy would have to go for offense. Ivy crept along the shadows, concealed by her cape, and pulled out knife, poised to strike.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

Laila solidified tendrils of the darkness, lashing them out and sending them writhing through the air. She palmed her dagger and dropped a vial of poison - not deadly, but reactive. It shimmered as it met the floor, spreading through the room in a toxic cloud.

Ivy smiled. Poison? Really? Hadn't this girl learned? She was immune to poison, and she could control poison. That was her power. Ivy pushed her hands out, controlling the poison. The poison started moving toward Laila.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

Laila smirked, watching the fog move back to her. Found you. The snakes slithered through the darkness, covered by weaving tendrils of shadow. Laila's dagger sailed through the air toward Ivy.
