Mary (bookzlover) I was wondering why there wasn't a thread for the end of the book and then I realized that I could create one. So what did you think?

I really enjoyed this book. It's one I keep thinking about even though I finished it three days ago.

Colin Barrow | 37 comments I enjoyed it a lot as well. As others have pointed out in the earlier topics, Wade ends up in some pretty featureless real-world places (the inside of the van, his almost empty apartment, the habitation unit). After the Cataclyst is used, even his OASIS world becomes almost featureless. Removing external distractions seems to be a theme of this book. If this book took place in the Middle Ages, Wade would probably make a great monk.

One thing which seemed slightly wrong was the Ogden Morrow character. He had all this money and power but seemed quite happy to watch the real world fall apart

Abby I had a strong suspicion that Aech was a girl, and I'm glad that Wade and everyone else accepted that easily. On the Internet, we can be whoever we want. Aech used OASIS to forget herself, as we often want to do.

I liked how after Wade found out Aech's true identity, he still referred to her as "he" when they were back in game.

Ogden didn't like the real world. He did'nt hate it as Halliday did but he didn't liked it. He only started to enjoy it when he got married. And even then... meh.

His contrubution to the world were a bunch of free educative programs that helped a whole generation to read, write, do math and be curious about the world.

When his wife died... Well, let the world die. More or less. He found a good hobbie in the Egg Hunt, becoming the referee no one new about.

Alice (girlofyarn) I just saw an ad for Microsoft HoloLens and it made me think of RPO. All of the people in the ad had these giant things on their heads. The holographs seem to be placed within your real life so you still walk around and presumably see the physical objects in the room with you (because how else could you walk around) but after reading this book it just felt like a real world piece of OASIS to me.

Maddison (maddeyeh) | 18 comments Oh oh this was so good. I am so happy that I finished this. I really loved the ending. I would elaborate more on how much I loved this book, but I'm afraid it would turn into a random mash of words that aren't cohesive whatsoever.

I was smiling so hard at the end. Ahhhh good :)

Jack (stormoak144) | 18 comments I started this book, and was unsure of it at first. I think I was mostly tired of dystopian, and didn't feel like getting into another one. But I pressed on, and so glad I did. Once I got a few chapters in I was hooked. I really liked it.

Part what I liked was the virtual part, how they all became whomever they wanted and could create a personna.

I felt bad for Wade though, becoming so isolated. I think it was a powerful moment when he decided to leave and interact with the outside world, even if it was to save the virtual one. You could tell when he met his friends face to face that they were really friends, even though they had never "met" before. I think that speaks to how friendships are formed, not through physical interactions but through conversation and ideas.

Mat | 41 comments I jut finished this now... (It was a busy few months as I'm graduating right away and had my final practical!)

Any way I jut wanted to post here saying I absolutely loved this book! The OASIS is so cool but I was strongly disappointed in the lack if Harry Potter... It made me question Hallidays Heros and the world in general. They did however mention QUIDDITCH but I feel like there is no way that in a customizable world that we wouldn't create hogwarts etc. or have the book be adopted into the world as a quest!!! Overall 5stars from me!!!
