Since I accidently posted some book 2 stuff in book 3's discussion 😒 - any thoughts on Anna's relationship with Mateo?
I finished Leaving the Way yesterday. While I enjoyed the novel, I think the author rushed to publish it too soon because I noticed a large number of errors. I hate being pulled out of a story - what a minute - what should that be? Not trying to be grammar police, but come on - lye instead of lie?I think Anna has a decent relationship with Mateo. I don't like that Brea and Camilla were portrayed as little more than "party" girls and also didn't like that Anna and Ash had to confront the others to be included in the leaders' meeting.
So, in Aiden’s defense, she hired somebody to edit her books and that person did a very poor job. I looked past it and didn’t rate based on the editing, even if it did distract from the story (I edited her latest, A Fairy Awesome Story, without trying to take away her voice). I read as a reader not as an author, which can be hard for authors. You have to see the bigger picture. Is it a good story? And I would say yes to The Way series. That is where our ratings should go. Also, mentioning the word “editing” in a review from author to author is pretty messed up, especially since we all know how hard it. can be to get them. Just saying. Not saying that’s what you did, but it’s happened to me in regards to the story itself and I think it’s more damaging than it is good.

That's a good point Matt. I read her blog post about that. It really sucks that happened. I know not everyone is like this, but for me, when I'm reading from a new SP author, I try really hard to focus on the story. Does the author have potential? And if he/she gets enough visibility could she/he make it mainstream? Because it's then that they can afford to spend money and let other people do all the things for them.
Just my thoughts, but I do understand feeling pulled out of the story when you need to figure out what the author meant. That does suck.
