Our October read is Priest of Bones by Peter McLean.


It is the first book of War for the Rose Throne, an ongoing series that has 2 books (including this one) published so far, with at least two more planned.

I've started it. I really like the "Godfather" feel to it. This is a really violent book and the way that our MC talks about killing and murder and running a gang is a little bit psychopathic, or is it sociopathic. I always get the two confused. Anyway, it's a good book and I want to see where it goes.

OOH interesting...

I started this last year sometime but only got through the first 70 pages or so. I really liked it, just had life derail my reading for a stretch and never got back to it.

I'd like to start over and read this soon.

I listened to both on audiobook and really enjoyed them. Narration was great.

I’m trying to get back to reading rather than listening. I’ve had so many things getting in the way recently.

Just an update, Tomas Piety (MC) is not a psychopath or a sociopath.

About a third of the way through, and it's really fun, action packed, and easy to read. I wouldn't say Tomas is a psycho/sociopath, just really emotionally detached, possibly from the war.
