Awesome review!

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

@reliz i don't think i've actually read a duology before lol

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

idk if you have any duology recomendations I'd love to hear them!

message 8: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly I know you didn't ask me, but The star-Touched Queen is good, and the 2nd book is on my looong TBR.

I like duologies a lot. Trilogies actually annoy me sometimes... I mean, occasionally they're good, but sometimes series that don't need to be that long get stretched out

Oo, I can't wait to read Strange the Dreamer! I just got my copy in the mail.

It's the same with The Bear and the Nightingale, which I'm reading now.

LyraFirefly YAS

message 15: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly I will just say, I am still a tween, maybe I'll eventually grow out of it, but for the time being, I love the Land of Stories, but Keeper of the Lost Cities is what I am reading right now. I was not obsessed with the fairy tale derivations, and actually, I didn't like any of them except this one. So yeah, just my opinion. Though I agree about the cheesiness aspect.

Sofia (sofloaf) | 3116 comments Mod
I LOVE THAT

message 17: by andrea (new)

andrea hartmann (andrea_h111) | 298 comments Not gonna lie...when I was in fifth grade my friends LOVED Land of Stories and Keeper of the Lost Cities and I never really fell into the hype. The whole stories vibe never exactly sat right with me...I feel like it was TOO fantasy if you know what I mean

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

I am really into keeper of the lost cities also, but I feel like it's kinda my guilty read bc a lot of people I know don't like it. it's one of my favorites tho haha

Hi Ayesha! It must be the time zones. I'm currently on Pacific, which means it's probably earlier where I live."

Also i got a TON of homework so I got little time on my hands😭

Elizabeth Here are my latest reviews: (I’m behind)
Chosen Ones: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Spellslinger: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

The Cruel Prince is next...I’ll (hopefully) get it reviewed soon.

message 26: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Thank you, Andrea!

message 27: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth I have a really weird desire to read this book that I know I’ll hate. I need to be persuaded otherwise.

message 28: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Wow I actually rated a book five stars.

1) Sometimes I just need to rant, you know?
2) THE CRUEL PRINCE IS SO GOOD AHHH
3) Great review!

message 30: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Does anyone know how to insert images/gifs on GR? Do you have to have the app or a specific browser? Whenever I try to add a GIF it does work.

message 31: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments I second that question. I have never been able to insert a GIF.

message 32: by Sofia, duckish things (new)

Sofia (sofloaf) | 3116 comments Mod
Try looking it up, copying the image, and then doing control v or whatever to paste it. That should work.

message 33: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments I'll be sure to try that in my next review!

message 34: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments Thank you :)

message 35: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Oh haha that’s why. I don’t use a laptop for Goodreads, only my phone and/or tablet.

message 36: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments I only use my laptop for Goodreads because it is so much easier to type.

message 37: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments I just like having a keyboard honestly

message 38: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments Same- my phone screen is kinda tiny, and my nails are relatively long so I get a lot more done on the computer.

message 39: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments I played piano until corona virus and now I am enjoying my long nails!

message 40: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments That's cool! I had a private teacher and was taking a few facetime lessons but that didn't work out.

message 41: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments A muted orchestra.... interesting

message 42: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments Kinda defeats the purpose...

message 43: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments hmm

message 44: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Yo so the GR choice awards are up! Thoughts:

-Queen of Nothing won for YA fantasy, and I'm OK with that.
-I'm surprised Addie LaRue didn't win for Fantasy, it seems really popular. And they did Rhythm of War dirty! It just barely got released. Instead another SJM book won *sigh*
-Tower of Nero winning middle grade was no big surprise.

message 45: by Sofia, duckish things (new)

Sofia (sofloaf) | 3116 comments Mod
I predicted all of that. I LOVE QoN, so I'm pretty happy with that. I still need to read Crescent City and Addie LaRue, though.

message 46: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth @Sofia From Mud and Trash won best romance. That I was expecting.

😂😂

message 48: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth So this is a bit random but I've seen people around GR have hundreds of books on their TBR shelf and I don't know how they can deal with having so many books waiting to be read. I only have around 45-50 books on mine but I'm still daunted. XD

Elizabeth wrote: "So this is a bit random but I've seen people around GR have hundreds of books on their TBR shelf and I don't know how they can deal with having so many books waiting to be read. I only have around ..."

Well, my physical tbr is much shorter. My tbr is just the books that interest me that I might read in the future.

message 50: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Yeah, I kind of have my TBR split up...I have a "maybe" shelf for books I might pick up/books I might read just to rant about and a tbr-later shelf for books I probably won't read until, well, later. And a tbr-unreleased shelf. I have way too many shelves lol. My actual TBR includes books I really want to pick up in the near future.
